I spent one night in this hotel with my niece, to round off another wonderful trip to Egypt and to do some last-minute revisiting of several sites.
The hotel is quietly located in a lovely part of Cairo, not too far from the museum (7 mins by taxi). The hotel is not very well known with the local taxi drivers (I mean the black-and-white cabs) so it might be a good idea to have a card from the hotel with you at all times! Lots of little shops and beautiful houses in the neighbourhood.
The elevator is rickety and the entrance to the building slightly bare. But once you’re on the floor of the hotel, you’re in lovely surroundings. Plenty of little alcoves and balconies to be explored, giving you a little insight in local life.
The pc is available 24/7 and breakfast was VERY nice. The rooms are one flight up (there might be rooms downstairs as well, I don’t really know) and fitted with AC, a coffee-and-tea maker, tv and a lovely bathroom.
It’s not a 5 star premises, but a sweet and comfortable boutiquestyle hotel. I’d definitely stay there again and I would recommend it to all who like something other than a boring Hilton….
