We really enjoyed our stay at the Saphir Hotel. It’s pretty, and the room was spacious and clean. Unfortunately the pool is in the middle of the restaurant outdoor eating area, so everyone can watch you as you swim which is a bit awkward. However I enjoyed the pool during this 40 degree weather despite the on-lookers. A peacock roams freely on the grounds of the hotel, as does an African deer named Bambi. It is friendly and will eat pieces of bread out of your hand. The clerk at the front desk informed me that only one breakfast was included in the room fee and wanted me to pay for the second one, even though I had booked a room for two, with two beds. I pointed out that my email confirmation stated 2 breakfasts were included. Then he backed down. Be careful of scams.

Mid size hotel with nice garden in the middle of town. And really quiet, rooms are well maintained, all works...but you have the feeling they still are building....Breakfast was nice buffet, food in general ok... and you can sit easily outside in the afternoon, do your internet work and have a beer aside...Relaxing stay

Very nice Hotel. I went to brazzaville for two weeks this summer and stayed at hotel saphir. The hotel is very nice, peaceful and relaxing. Situated in the center of the city, few minutes away to la corniche with an amazing view on the river and the neighboring city, Kinshasa. Because of its location it's also very easy to go around if you need public transport of cabs. The room was all I wished for: spacious and clean. The staff was very helpful as well and always happy to give advice on what to do. The restaurant is no different: the morning buffet was always loaded with fresh tropical fruits and various pastries, from croissant to freshly baked little bread, and the rest of the day the cook had amazing dishes to offer. I definitely recommend.

We have just concluded a meeting of the African Union Commission and the Economic Community of Central African States (representatives from 9 countries) on Disability Mainstreaming. We had a number of persons with disabilities as part of the country delegations. There are no disability-compliant accommodation facilities in Brazzaville that can house such a big number of delegates so after a wide search we opted for Hotel Saphir. Not that it was disability-compliant but because of the attitude of the owner and staff. Right from the beginning and throughout the meeting they have gone out of their way to accommodate the delegates with different type of disabilities by improvising, making changes and just being very considerate, professional and friendly. The fact that some of us who were in the organising committee cant speak French, did not deter them. The owner himself dislodged the dining room door to allow access for wheelchair users and allow us to rearrange/remove furniture and ornaments or plants that could have been obstacles in pathways, etc. Kudos to the owner and staff. You have shown us a lot of heart...much appreciated.
