“The rain made it even better!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 March 2012

I arranged this activity from Sydney and was told that the cost per person was $100AUD/8500 Vatu. I enquired as to why there was such a difference and was told that they have set AUD and Vatu prices. Nonetheless I booked whilst in Australia and paid $100AUD for the two of us.

I was not dissapointed.

We were picked up from our hotel (this was included), after we arrived we filled out the no liability forms, showed our drivers licences and picked out a helmet and goggles.

We had a little bit of trouble with our buggy to start but the guys fixed it all up and we were ready to go. As soon as we started off it started raining and it did not stop. It was heaps fun (and Gross!) driving through puddles. We did the bush to beach tour and the swap over is at the beach.

We got some lollies for the kids (don't hand them all out to the first lot of kids that come your way there are many more which missed out down the path). We hi fived our way around and even had to get some kiddies to help us when we got bogged in the black sand.

The best part of the drive is the second part where you get to weave and wind through the bush with tall grasses on each side and sharp turns to test your rally driving skills.

The rain stopped as we arrived at the beach and went for a snorkel to clean off all the muddy dirt and water that splashed up on us along the way. There are plenty of fish, make sure you bring your reef walkers. When snorkelling look out into the drop zone where you will see some big fish hanging around.

Lunch was standard, nothing fancy and did its job in terms of filling us up, it consisted of steak, sausages, chips, salad and bread.

We set off again and of course it started to rain even harder! There is no swap over on the way back and its mostly road so no more winding through the bush or little kids to hi five. Some of the roads were flooded which added to the fun of driving through water that was coming right up inside the buggy.

All in all I highly recommend this activity and if its raining EVEN BETTER!!!

“Unprofessional - Check there is no cruise ship in town”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 February 2012

We stayed in Vanuatu for a week and prior to our holiday we booked with Off Road Adventures.

During booking we advised the company that we would make payment in Vatu when we arrived. We received an E-mail acknowledging the booking, but requesting confirmation on arrival in Vanuatu. However, when I called to confirm and discuss pick up arrangements when we did arrive, I was told that I had been bumped.

The reason appears to be that a cruise ship was in town AND the new booking was paying in AUD. The Vatu price is cheaper than the AUD price. Thus Off Road Adventures were getting more in AUD from the new booking than from me.

Not happy and very unimpressed.

Had a fairly large group as a cruise ship was in port the day we went. Did the turtle bay tour and was stunning.

The price for the trip included the entry fee and lunch at turtle bay along with some local fruit on the way. 1200 vautu extra allowed you to swim with the big turtles and sharks when you get there. Lovely beach to clean yourself on arrival and a tour around the baby turtles and coconut crab enclosure. You can pickup and hold the baby turtles as well.

“A lot of fun!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 February 2012

This is a great experience especially for right hand car drivers. You also get to see a bit of the countryside. The local kids come out and line the roads doing high fives. That was great. There could be more opportunity to let loose in the buggies but even so I'd highly recommend this activity.

Great fun, very dirty, lovely experience to meet the community. Have to do it when your in Port Villa! I made the mistake of letting my husband drive, and ended up the muddiest in the group!
