This museum was a welcome escape from the heat and had both New Caledonian and other Pacific Island exhibits which showed faacinating aspects of traditional life. There are many interactive puzzels for children, especially if they speak French. There are also full size reconstructions of boats, canoes, and a hut.

Reasonably priced and easy to get to on foot from the city centre.

So many beautiful things in here, such a shame we were the only ones there. People don't appreciate fine art and history.

The place may be small but its well worth visiting - great insight into the pacific cultures - make sure you have local money no cards accepted

Enjoyed an hour one morning learning more about the culture of the islands. Many well displayed and well spaced exhibits. Enough explanation in English to ensure we usually knew what we were looking at. Only takes local currency. Has senior's entrance. Easy walk from the square.
