The hotel is in an excellent location in the centre of downtown La Paz. Room is very pleasant and, as on the 14th floor, amazing views over La Paz.
Niggles are next to useless WiFi in my room (others are ok apparently), could not get safe working, only one small bath towel and no spare roll of toilet paper. Cheese at breakfast seemed past its "best before" date and a pair of socks was lost in the laundry.
All the basics are in place they just need to look at the small details and then it will be better.

Dear Customer,

Thanks for your comments, we are passing the report of the Wifi theme to our responsible department for immediate review.

We regret the impasse with the theme of towells and toilet paper, corrective actions are being taken.

We hope we can serve it in the future.

Regards

We are currently staying in Hotel Presidente, La Paz, leaving tomorrow. We have been here for four nights and found no problems at all. Great hotel, if not quite 5 star by Hilton standards. However we are not paying Hilton prices! The law of the country has changed and there are signs that advise no smoking anywhere in the building. The rooms are clean and spacious and the ensuite has all the amenities expected of a first class hotel. We are on the 14th floor and although we can hear the traffic, it isnt a problem. The cathedral clock striking every 15 minutes may annoy some people but is only heard faintly in the distance.

Staff have all been friendly and helpful and if some dont speak English, learn some basic Spanish. It is their country after all.

The one area we would agree with a previous reviewer is the coffee in the breakfast room. Despite management saying it is the best in town I would hate to try the others. This hotels coffee in the dining room is bitter in the extreme and to us, completely undrinkable. However that is not nearly enough reason not to stay here again next time we are in La Paz.
I dont understand some peoples need to find fault with everything they can. No complaints from us.

Thank you for your comments, really a poetry of recommendations for people who travel the world.

If we want to change something, we must change first, thanks for that excellent attitude.

Since my office is located a couple of blocks away, I´ve been eating at this hotel´s restaurant for the last 7 years, 3 or 4 times a month. I´ve spent around $us 7000 in meals. I also used the pool and spa facilities once but they were so dirty and disgusting that I never came back. This noon, I didn´t feel like eating, but still was in need to use the bathroom. After using it, the hotel manager approaches me with the security guard behind him, and tells me that I´m not allowed to use the bathroom unless I´m a guest of the hotel. I answered him that I was, in fact, a client but the guy seemed not to understand it. In the most unfriendly manner, he asked me to leave and to not come back and never use the bathroom again unless I pay for a room or have lunch at the restaurante.
Clearly the manager is not the person a 5 star hotel needs to address its customers.
I´m sure this review will make the hotel lose more than a couple of customers. That´s much more than let somebody use some water and soap.

Due to airline flight cancelations, we had to change our arrival days a couple of times. The staff was very accommodating and kind. The service all around was exceptional. The room was modern, comfortable, and clean. The dining room had a great buffet. And the location made our time in La Paz very convenient.

During a trip to Bolivia, we stayed st the Presidente Hotel three trips. Each time the room got better. The higher the floor the better the room, upgrades in the bathroom, New furniture & finishes. The second floor dining room’s food was better than the top floor. The door men were very helpful with arranging taxis. Overall the building was a little tired. Outside noise is a real problem, barking dogs all night & car alarms that never stopped screaming.
