Some friends came from Montevideo for a long weekend. On the first day they discovered Rustic, and ate there every lunchtime for the rest of their stay. 'We can't beat this quality for this price,' they said, 'Not even in Montevideo'. It is true that 200 pesos (7 USD) for roast pork with roast potatoes is a snip, as it is for the many other dishes on the lunch menu. But more importantly they are well-cooked, the decor is pleasant and the service is competent, if sometimes a bit on the slow side. For a few dollars more the fish with roquefort sauce and stir-fried vegetables is half the price it costs elsewhere. The friends were right: best just to set up a camp bed here and ask to be fed from time to time.
