This WAS our favourite hotel but things seem to be changing & not for the better.
The staff are fantastic in every department of the hotel, from front of house, to the pool area, we were recognised as returning guests by many & I felt really welcome. But the changes were evident & I gather the long term manager has now left & as not yet replaced, with presumably 'Danat' management look after things (& especially costs)
No welcome drinks in the foyer, no bed turn down in the evening. no evening entertainment in the bar or pool area (unless you want TV football). The Harpist is still there in the early evening, but in the centre of reception!!! Nothing really to engage guests & use the various entertainment facilities in the evening after dinner. Food choice is still good for an international hotel but I do expect the 'dress code' to be applied in the restaurant at dinner - & 'cut-offs' with tee shirts does not really reflect a 5 star rating. Must be getting old? so our next trip will be to one of the many competing hotels in the area, they are still popping up everywhere.More
