The Fairmont Bab Al Bahr is an absolutely amazing hotel from when you first set eyes on it - the modern, artistic design is consistent through all areas and the decor is astounding. We stayed here 5 nights in a Club Room and each day was fantastic - the concierge organised all of our activities and reservations and the Club Room staff addressed us by names, always asked how our day was (and remembered what we were doing, gave suggestions etc) and it was just a really great place to relax. The pool is fantastic - heated perfectly and absolutely ginourmous, and the beach is well equipped, even though the water is quite cold and not desirable. What I love about this hotel is even with so many people staying here, you always feel like you're at a secluded hotel with no big crowds. Location is good and accessible to everything by taxi - and the view of the Grand Mosque simply cannot be described in words. I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to stay but the Fairmont.

Room Tip: Fairmont Club Rooms are worth the money - you have access to a great breakfast, afternoon tea and evening snacks (which can really be a dinner)

Stayed at the beginning of January and paid an extra to be upgraded to the so called golden floor (executive). The rooms were outstanding with a fantastic skyline and the mosque at a side.It 's modern and modeled with a lot of glass. Very good breakfast in the nice restaurant called CUISINE where we also enjoyed a couple of very good dinners with an international and arabic buffet. GREAT STAFF especially in the restaurants and concierge service. They have a small cosy sandy beach with chilled water and a very nice heated pool for relax while reading your I-pad with free wifi. The only problem is that this hotel is very far from the centre of the city and you need 20 and more minutes by taxi to go to the Marina and down town. In any case it is a hotel to recommend to anyone.

Firstly we as a family would like to say THANK YOU so much for making our stay so fabulous....Each and every member of staff were just BRILLIANT... where do I start...... Biji John, Made and Benji, Michelle Littto at the buffet, and also the French Canadian Chef in buffet, sorry can't remember your name.....Thank you for bringing food to our table......then of course the Head Chef of Buffet......and Romel.....all outstanding.....Frankies........Mable Keith and Angel...The Pool....Ash and August, all were very attentive and fun.....
This review is more of a role call of names...simply because these people and the many more i have not mentioned really went the extra mile to make our holiday just perfect..... the mangement were also very easy to talk to and made themselves very available to the guests....

Now back to the hotel......stunning inside...the interior...very modern and chic...the hotel rooms (we had standard rooms) very spacious.....luxurious finish.......food was fabulous.... although did not try Marco Pierre's Steakhouse as we felt that it was somewhat over priced.....the steak in the buffet was very very good, the best we have ever had...as was the service......Drinks were good as was the popcorn!!!

There was a comment passed on a previous posting about the pool not being attached to the hotel so to speak......NOT TRUE... the pool is perfecty located....with the beach along side, the creek was crystal clear and very calm.....great for swimming..........you don't have to walk anywhere to far.....The grounds are well tended and looked after.....

Just a couple of negatives......being an American owned Hotel...i would expext the Latte to be uniform and well made in all areas of the hotel.....it was a little hit and miss.....half a cup of froth....only half a cup of coffee....and not very hot....more luke warm.....however we did find it funny......we got there in the end..... there was quite a lot of helicopter activity around the hotel as there was a government building near by......not a negative point really but a little nosiy sometimes........ sun loungers are in need ........ when the hotel is full there is far from enough available............ although we did not have a problem......the hotel was not busy....

Would we return? MOST DEFINATELY......... In short, we had a wonderful holiday.......we felt genuine warmth and friendlyness from all who helped us....... Thank you....Kind Regards...we are missing you you and the weather already......

We stayed here for 3 nights on a stopover on our way to Ireland.
The hotel was about 20 mins from airport and the same to the shopping malls.
Taxis were cheap so that was no problem.
The hotel was immaculate, rooms were fantastic. The shower was an actual room.
Service was fantastic. We have nothing bad to say about this hotel.
Would highly recommend
