Khor Al Udeid Beach
Ranked #3 of 64 things to do in Doha

I was on a memory trip with my daughter who was born in Doha in 1986. Going in 4x4 convoy down to the Inland Sea was a regular activity so we had to do it again! We went with Qatar Inbound Tours, a small company, but very good. We did 3 different tours with them. Amir was our driver for the this trip. You have the first stop at Mesaieed to let the tyres down making it easier to drive on sand. A bit of a tourist point with brief camel rides for a huge sum. Holding the falcon photo opportunities also for a price. There are toilets and sweetened tea is offered. Amir gave us a truly breathtaking ride over the dunes. Obviously well used to dune driving, the video of Amir's driving made my husband gulp! His dune driving was far more sedate! The dune landscape is beautiful and makes a welcome break to the jammed traffic and building sites that is Doha. We stopped at the Inland Sea for a short break and then went on to the Qatar Inbound Tour camp for lunch and a swim. If you are worried by roller coaster driving they well calm it down for you, but try and go for it. I could add lots of photos, but there are already lots out there. This was probably the favourite part of our holiday. Thank you Qatar Inbound Tours!

This was an expensive experience worth its price in sand, and I do believe we got some with us home.

The tour was flexible and picked us up at the airport and even changed hours for us. Wonderful big black Jeep and a driver Abdullah dressed in traditional white dress- welcome to the Middle East!

We drove south and it was fun to see the expansion of roads being built, then the oil rigs and finally the camels. Our driver let out air from the tires, and told us to hang on. What a ride!

We stopped to take pictures, he pointed out the border to Saudi Arabia and the second time we were told to take our shoes off and skip down the sand dune barefoot. Amazing!

Then we went by the water before heading back to Doha. Wonderful experience.

Beautiful beaches and a lot of fun things to do. This is a great way to get out of the city and relax.

For me it is unquestionably the best thing to be in qatar and the only thing that made me keep living in qatar.

It is the sand dunes area that meets the sea along the eastern part of it and extends to the west to include remote desert with camel farms that extends to al kharrara area. It have a great mixture of huge dunes, open sandy patches, camel herding, beach front good for swimming and great fishing spots and a lot of offroad driving big that covers all kind of levels

It is contained area of around 40 km long and same in width which makes u enjoy the desert rides and camping without serious packing as u can roam around with half tank and you are covered all the way with 4G/3G connection.

In the camping season which is from first of November till first of April there is a lot of fixes camp that makes the area noisy and a lot of people do it respect the nature so they always generate noise whether from there songs or generators and also generate lighting pollution from there lights , as still the major culture of visiting the desert here is to bring the city with u which is the worst part

For me best time is after the season as less noise is there and in summer it is calm but weather is not good as a lot of humidity is there

So if u think of calm desert it won't be the case for most of the time also you will always see lights in the horizon . But for duning, camp by and off-roading it is a very unique and interesting playground. You will defiantly want to buy a 4x4 car especially to enjoy this part of qatar

Best place in qatar again for me
