I spent three nights at the Coral Beach Hotel and Resort in Beirut.
Overall, I would classify this hotel as a low-end 4-star hotel. The staff are friendly, and the lobby, while small, is OK. But it's definitely not 5 stars, as it lacks the finishing touches and quality that a 5-star hotels have to offer.
The location is average. Perhaps the only real advantage is that it's relatively close to the airport. Otherwise you're quite far from downtown Beirut and the more touristic parts of the city, so you'll definitely need a taxi to get there.
The room was OK (I had quite low expectations so it actually exceeded them). The shower is perhaps the best part - sufficiently spacious with good water pressure (although the water did smell a bit like swimming pool water). I think there was only one functioning English channel on TV (BBC World).
The gym is all over the place. There's a couple of decent cardio machines, but the rest is a bazaar. It's basically a bunch of very old machines and weight lifting kits cramped in a very very small area!
Perhaps the most disappointing aspect was the quality of the food. Breakfast was a big let down. There's a lot on offer but the quality was pretty low and basic and just didn't feel fresh. Ditto for lunch and dinner. It doesn't do service to real Lebanese food!
Overall, it's an OK hotel, but it wouldn't be my first choice and I probably wouldn't return.
