Description: CHILLAX CAFE' - Now Downtown Amman's most Popular Street Cafe . . . Retaining the simple faded nostalgia of bygone days where one can laze away the hot dusty days and just watch the world go by . . . Chillax Café at Jordan Tower Hotel is a new cozy peaceful safe haven amidst the chaos of the traditional vibrant Arabic Souk of Downtown Amman, with its crowded, thronging streets packed full of minarets, traders, shoppers and worshipers –narrow back streets and alleyways and dusty, winding, noisy thoroughfares and huge staircases. Let your mind wander back a 100 years to the old Downtown, where little has changed since the first Circassian settlements and the days of Peake Pasha and Glubb Pasha and imagine the early days of the Hashemite Kingdom. Close your eyes and absorb the atmosphere and immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of the surrounding area and Imagine the days of Miss Gertrude Bell (known as the Queen of the desert) and TE Lawrence and his 7 Pillars of Wisdom. If you’re feeling a little energetic, play a game of chess or chat to any number of local & foreign patrons who all enjoy meeting other like minded individuals. We also have the friendliest and most welcoming staff. Enjoy the finest herbal tea or pop along for Friday breakfast/brunch for the tastiest range of breakfast options. Along with a range of simple, yummy inexpensive meals and snacks. Open every day from 0830-2100 … Nice music and plenty of reading material and laid back people to talk to. You will never be alone at Chillax. (. . . Fairooz in the morning, 3abdulhaleem in the afternoon, and Om kalthoom in the night.. . )

2 Jordanians talk to me on the street.
And they took me to this restaurant.

I ordered 1 dishes, 1 small coke and small beer.
Total bill is over 50JD(Over $70).
It's crazy. Very Very expensive.
I couldn't believe it.

I think that 2 Jordanians are staff, or they get benefit.
Please be careful. And I don't reccomend this restaurant.

Pleasant little cafe in the heart of the city. Friendly staff and good food. Across the road from the Roman Theatre, so a good stop for coffee/tea/food during a walk around the sites!

I discoverd this place as I was staying in the Jordan Tower hotel next door. The manager Ibrahim is such a nice person, and very helpful with advice, directions and even teaching some basic Arabic phrases to help with getting around Amman. There is a good selection of drinks, and the freshly cooked food is excellent and very good value. It is also a social place and good for meeting other travellers

I stayed at the hostel above this lovely café, so now and then I passed this place. This is when I came in touch with Ibrahim (the one who runs this place I guess). A very good English speaking guy who is always prepared to help you with no hidden agenda and won''t ask for anything in return. It made my visit to Amman way more pleasent! Thans you so much!
