Description: It's a local place that our Jordanian guide took us to and would be a real bonus to international travelers! It has fantastic food - the best we had on our 15 day trip to Israel and Jordan. All vegetarian: three different kinds of hummus, stuffed and regular felafel, fresh tomatoes and onions, what we would call French fries.

If you feel like hummus and associated stuff; falafel, fatteh ..etc, then Hashim is the best place to go. The quality and the authenticity of this restaurant is un-matched. The price is reasonable and the experience is priceless!

do not bother with menu. just order the mix. they know what to serve and this will be the best felafel and hummus you'll ever eat. and when you'll order a bill it will be so cheap you whished you had more. if you have a hotel near by, skipp hotel breakfast and come here. they are open 24/7.

This is a place not much advertised and has no frills attached to it . It's literally a tent supported by a wall . People and especially locals come here to eat hummus , falafel and mutabel . The whole breakfast cost us 6-7JD and we were three women . We hogged on our food . Thus is just off the street and you can view the busy passer by going about doing their business . This is in down town Amman and must a visit if visiting the city . I was amazed that this chap and his family has been in the business since 1800 Some thing. A local place with a local flavour . Cheap to the pocket and ideal for travellers wanting to experience good food

No need to spend a fortune on great food in Amman. Would never have found this place if it wasn't for guide but I'm sure taxi drivers must know this place by heart. The falafel is great - try the large one rolled in sesame seeds with onion inside - the hummus is sublime with lots of olive oil and whole chickpeas and the veggies are all fresh. You won't go hungry.
