Our hotel recommended Cafe Jafra and we were so happy they did. The food was great and we had the opportunity to try some dishes that we had not seen yet. We tried the clay pots with lamb and chicken and they tasted as good as their presentation. My husband said they had some of the best tasting shisha that he had in Jordan. Take a break and pop in for some food, shisha, or both.

This restaurant is in 2nd floor of the building. The atmosphere is awesome with wooden decoration.

They also provide Shisha if you needed.

Up the stairs located at the back of the entrance hall (don't go into the baths by mistake :) is the large cafe/restaurant.
It became pretty busy during the time we were there (mid-evening), with a lot of (presumably) locals eating and smoking shisha pipes (to our surprise we didn't find the smoking (of shisha or cigarettes) intrusive and nowhere did this spoil a meal).
We each had a "pot" meal, which is where the clay pot in which the meal is cooked is broken in front of you and the contents then served up. Very good food.
The four of us each had a starter and a main and a soft drink; all different and none disappointed. The cost (April 2017) was about 20JD (£25) each.

I visit Jafra Cafe every time i come to Amman & i really like its atmosphere. But unfortunately last visit was a bad experience for me because of the bad service from the waiters.
You ask for something many times and he don't even pay effort to listen, then you see him talking to his colleagues and doing nothing for you !! You feel like you are setting for free.

I hope they enhance this service soon.

Absolutely loved this place with its ancient wooden doors, Shisha pipes and the Oud playing. If you are lucky you might get space on the old wooden verandah that looks over downtown Amman with its shoppers, taxis hooting and sirens wailing. Very popular with locals and the expats in Amman it offers some great food and drinks and a traditional taste of Jordan.
