“Smoking on the terrace”

Young people manage this old-style jordan cafè, that reminds me the italian "bar" of my youth 40 years ago, places where males meeted to talk, play cards, drink and smoke, while women stayed at home... try to conquer a seat and a little table on the terrace, that looks on the very trafficated al-Malik street, order a tasty cardamome coffee and a mint tea and enyoy your shisha! (Smoking with narghilè) ... even if you don't smoke, this time try it (if you can). Women can come here, even if they're rare. The main door is not on al-Malik street, but on a lateral alley instead, next to the "women souq"

We ended up spending our whole evening in Amman in this bar, sipping tea and smoking chicha's, talking to friendly locals who really made us feel welcomed... The bill for this was only 5jod -a bargain! The bar has a great terrace, overlooking downtown Amman. We can really recommend this place.

We found Eco-Tourism Cafe (aka Al Rasheed Court Cafe) by a chance and spent there a couple of hours. It looks really basic but if you want to relax and have a drink that's the place to go. It is a friendly place with a good service. Get a sit on the balcony and watch busy streets of Amman while drinking a very good and cheap coffee (I had two or three as I really liked it). I didn't try shisha myself but heard it was very good too.

This place is real. Real local hangout, great prices and above all quality shisha and service.

2 Dinar for a shisha is a good price and the coal service is very good. Very smokeable and they seem to use good quality tobacco as its not harsh and goes for ages.

Its a basic place and but the balcony has good views over downtown and is a great place to see in the late afternoon.

The brightly painted flag wall makes this place easy to spot- its 50m from King Hussien Mosque.

Friendly and quality with decent prices. What else can you ask for.
