The apartment is to the right of a larger 3 story apartment building set back from the street. It is essentially a small cottage, there are several sets of stairs to walk down (or up) but they are not steep and easily navigated even for an older couple which we are. The apartment consists of a living/dining area, small kitchen, bathroom and a very comfortable bedroom. There are no closets but plenty of wide wooden hooks to hang clothes on, plus a cabinet with shelves and draws in the bedroom. For our 1 week stay it really was perfect. The WiFi worked well, and the TV had many satellite channels in a variety of languages, we mostly watched a station called MEZZO with classical music videos and programming. One street over is Azza where the buses run but they are not user friendly unless you read and understand Hebrew. (This is not the fault of the apartment). To the left of the apartment down the street you come to a park and if you walk through the very safe park you can easily get to the magnificent Israel Museum which no one should miss. There are also several restaurants on Azza including a 24 hour convenience store. I mostly ate breakfast in, and ate out for lunch and dinner. The apartment has a full size refrigerator which is very convenient. Also the apartment is not Kosher, which was good for us as we do not keep Kosher.
The apartment is on a historic street because if you walk to the right of the apartment you will come to a plaque in front of a building that once served as a residence for Menachem Begin.
We stayed in this apartment for 5 nights. It is located in a quiet street, in a leafy neighborhood, around 20 minutes walk from the Jaffa gate ( there is a hill on the way). There are also a few buses that stop 5 minutes from the apartment.
We enjoyed a couple of nice breakfasts in two places nearby that Yifan recommended.
the place is fully equipped should you want to have your meals there, which we didn't.
As it got chilly at night, we used the airco as heating, which works very well, and heats up the place in no time, really, as the place is not big.
The bed was really really comfy, which, given that the place is so quiet, helped us sleep very long and deep every night.
The shower is good albeit small ( only has a curtain, so be careful not to spill out the water).
We had a relaxing and pleasant stay. Much more genuine than staying in a hotel . Highly recommendable.
