This was our second visit and it was just as good as the first time. This hotel has a fantastic location with good views of the Old City and the surroundings. As an older hotel, I didn't expect all of the newest stuff, but everything was clean, worked and was just fine. The only thing that we didn't like was the "European" makeup of the bed with one bottom sheet and a duvet. The duvet was fairly heavy, so it was nothing covering us or a very warm duvet. What more than made up for it was the fantastic breakfast buffet. Wow, if you couldn't find something you liked, well..... So much food and such choices and all of it good.

My first reaction on entering the Mt Zion Hotel was ‘wow!’. The view from the large arched windows in the lounge bar over Jerusalem is spectacular. However the hotel failed to deliver on expectations and gave the impression that it was skimping on the little things to save money. When we entered our room we drew back the curtains to find an old singlet on the floor. There were hairs around the porcelain on top of the toilet bowl (yuk). I went to reception and reported it. The woman I spoke to seemed unconcerned and told me, rather coldly, that she would get the housekeeping supervisor to check. The singlet was removed (the hairs weren’t though) and no word of apology received. I felt like I had been a bother reporting it. No mini bar in the room, the tea bags we used on night one were not replaced when our room was serviced the following day, there was no milk in the room fridge for coffee/tea, just some packet powdered creamers and, even though the day temperature reached the high 20’s the inviting looking swimming pool could not be used as it was ‘out of season’. Our room looked out onto another wing of the hotel and was quite dark and musty smelling. A plus was the old marble and tiled steam room.

Visiting with a group traveling trough Israel we stayed at the Mount Zion Hotel for four nights. The stuff makes you feel very welcome, the food (we had breakfast and dinner) is awesome- even freshly made scrambled eggs for breakfast .
The dessert buffet after dinner is a feast!
Nice rooms, comfy bed a big shower let you stay in the room more time than you want to.
Everybody working in the Hotel is wonderful!
The reason of 4 and not 5 stars? The outside pool (nice located) was already closed, because „it’s October!“ That’s sad, because it was very warm on the outside and we wanted to go there after discovering Jerusalem... beside there’s a Hamam you can use (I didn’t go in there).
The Hotel is located on a main road close to the old center of Jerusalem, but that doesn’t bother because of good windows.

During the feast of tabernacles we hosted A lot of people in this hotel. We worked mainly With evening coördinator Tarek. And he was wonderful. Always kind and helpful and trying his best. Also most of the other personnel were friendly and helping. But Tarek was the best!
