As we do every year, we enjoy the Hutzot Hayotzer held in Jerusalem in the month of Augost. The exhibitions change every time and new things are shown, mainly jewelry, ceramics, hand made women bags, etc. There is always the exhibition of things from latin american countries, from asia and europe,
In addition of a food fair there is every evening a show by the best of Israeli artists.

Israel is a fabulous place for great jewelery. You can find beautiful jewelery any where you go in Israel but the Artists Colony was by far the best. We discovered it by accident and unfortunately it was on the last day of our stay so our funds had run dry. If we are lucky enough to return one day we will make this place the fist place we visit .

When walking around Jerusalem, you don't want to miss Chutzot Hayotzer...the Artists' Colony. A beautiful collection of Israeli artists, both modern and traditional. This hidden gem isn't on a lot of lists, but is well worthwhile and very easy to get get to.
At the base of the Mamilla shops, continue to the right (when facing the wall) and stay on the right side of the road. A beautiful little lane way of shops and galleries, including a delicious gem of a restaurant called The Little Eucalyptus - featuring Biblical cuisine using fresh, wild herbs and a renound Israeli chef.
We especially enjoyed chatting with Artist and Owner Emil Shenfeld, a fantastic and passionate artist whose modern creations are not only gorgeous, but also multi-functional. His wife offers stunning modern jewelry in the same location.
The artists we spoke to were happy to see new visitors and are desperately in need of some good word of mouth!

Don't miss out on walking through the artist's colony - on the way to the Old City!!!
