This is my first time staying in a hostel so I can not compare it to others. However, it met my needs. Clean, comfortable, convenient. I would come back. It is in a old stone building with a cavelike feeling requiring climbing narrow stairwells to get to the sleep rooms so be prepared. Definitely for the agile.

This hostel is in a perfect location. Right in the center of Jerusalem, you are within 10 minutes walking distance from the Western Wall, Dome of the Rock, and the Holy Sepulchre, as well as all 4 quarters of the city.

The staff members are all young volunteers that are quite helpful and fun to be around if you are a young backpacker like me. They can offer helpful tips on food and quiet spots in the city, as well as transportation to Bethlehem and onto Eilat and Jordan.

The hostel is in a building that was built over 1000 years ago, which is a quite cool experience. That being said, there could really be some improvements. It is quite cramped and gets really hot throughout the day. The bathrooms are also quite small and definitely need improvement.

That being said, you don't come to Jerusalem to stay inside all day. The rooftop provides magnificent views of the city. It was nice being able to sit up there and have a beer or two while looking at the surroundings.

Stay here for the location and hospitality. If you are looking for luxury, look somewhere else. But, are you really a traveller if you look for the latter?

Room Tip: Sleep outside on the top of the roof! It is much cooler and you'll have a better nights sleep, it is also cheaper!

This hostel is right in the Old City of Jerusalem a few minutes from Jaffa gate. If you want to soak up the atmosphere and appreciate the history of this special city it is a great spot from which to do so. The actual building is many hundreds of years old and has a great rooftop allowing you can see Jerusalem in all its splendor. It attracts a mix of travelers to socialize with (politics certainly dominates conversations) and has a friendly vibe. The negatives were definitely that the rooms are extremely hot in summer as too many beds are crammed into a very small space without any insulation, there was literally one powerpoint for the whole 8 person dorm and it was above on persons bed so this was terrible as you had to leave your valuables in the hallway all night and I also found the bathrooms to be too dirty and cramped for so many people. Overall I would still recommend the hostel for a chance to live in such a historic and grand city if only for a few days.

The location of this place is unbeatable right in the center of the old town - and yet is a quiet little side street. It's a bit like cave, though, with many corners and floors full of stuff. The toilets are bad, as are the showers and our room had no window or ventilation. On teh upside: the terrace has an excellent view and it's great to sit up there. The staff were nice and helpful.
