We arrived at about 10pm so 24 hour reception service was a great thing to have. Cheers has a wonderful view on Aya Sofia and you can walk to almost all sights in the historical part of Istanbul. Hostel is clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff there is very friendly and willing to assist you in everything you may need. Definitively a good choice!

Great hostel right next to the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. The hostel is very clean and very well maintained. The mini bar is a great place to have a drink with a beautiful view of all the important landmarks. The hosts were extremely friendly. They organized a trip for me to Capadoccia at very reasonable rates. The hostel has a friendly atmosphere and i would definitely stay here again!

Fantastic hostel in a great location. The rooms are clean, breakfast is good, and the view from the bar is amazing. The staff are super friendly, some of the best I've come across. They make you feel at home and are very helpful with recommendations and making arrangements. Cheers has a great atmosphere, and I'd recommend it to anyone traveling to Istanbul.

Great place, I'd certainly stay here again.

We told them when our flight was to arise and they sent a shuttle service to pick us up (I think for about €25). The staff was all very friendly and very helpful. Free Wi-Fi too.

We had a private room ensure with two beds across the street from the main building in more of an apartment style building. For three nights stay I think it worked out to be about €180. My only problem was that you had to pay in cash with Euros.

There are pictures on this site that show the view from their bar located on the top floor: it looks across at the Hagia Sofia which along with the Blue Mosque is just around the corner from them. The Grand Bazarr is also within walking distance. The guys who were operating the bar were real nice, and frankly played some of the best music I've had the privilege to listen to in any bar (a lot of Rock: classic, '90s, and modern along with the occasional current pop tunes).

We took a cab to the busier (nightlife) part of town with the square and strips of bars for about 10-15 Turkish Lira ($8). The tram is nearby and is definetly the cheapest way to return to the airport (2 TL aka $1.20) and get around the rest of the city. From this hostel we easily walked down to the piers and took the regularly operating ferry (every 15-20 minutes) across to the Asian District for the same cost as a tram ride.

Stayed: February 2012

I recently stayed ar Cheers Hostel and was very happy with my experience. The room are clean and affordable, and the atmosphere is very relaxed and homelike. Cheers is a great place for anyone seeking a lively social environment without the obligation of partying.

I was also very pleased with the staff, they were great to interact with and helped connect me with a local dealer of incredible, authentic Turkish rugs from whom I made an unforgettable purchase.
