Enjoyed a lovely meal in here with my wife on a recent visit to Istanbul. The staff were very courteous and attentive and not pushy at all. Infact the restaurant advertises that it's a "no hassle zone". Yes it's very "touristy" and I'm sure you could get a cheaper meal of the same quality for less somewhere else but this is slap bang in the middle of where it's at. After our meal we were given a tour of the restaurants very own Byzantine ruins by our host. We were led through a small arched doorway into a darkened chamber and then the lights came on to reveal a series of recently (within 30 years) high roofed "vaults" that eclipsed the size of the restaurant and surrounding buildings in terms of size. The "ruins" are apparently part of a long abandoned and filled in Byzantine Fort that lay below the nearby Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque and the Topaki Palace. This was a real hidden gem and one of the best "desserts" I've had.
