This place was just what I was looking for- great location, quiet, simple, well priced.
I arrived without a booking, and I liked the first room that I was shown so I took it.

There was a huge bed, a view over a quaint street below, (I liked watching the things going on below- water pipes, backgammon, street stalls etc), a private bathroom, a little table and chair with jug to make yourself tea in morning (before venturing to the the Blue Mosque, just a minute walk away!!).

It was more affordable than the private room that I'd been staying in at a hostel.

The mangers were very friendly accommodating.

If you want a 5 star hotel, then you will be disappointed. But if you are an independent or budget traveler who doesn't expect everything to be perfect then this is a great option. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I stayed at Akdeniz in November 2014. It is perfectly located in Sultanahmet... a stones throw from the tram stop and walking distance from the Hagia Sofia, Blue mosque and Topkapi palace. Get on the tram line and you can get to all the other attractions as well. There's a great selection of restaurants too around this hotel so it worked out very well for us. The staff and how helpful they were is a must mention. We left two of our bags with them while me travelled to Cappadocia and Pamukkale and that says a lot about how trustworthy they are. The rooms are very no frills though but hey, breakfast is included in the room tariff! Go stay here by all means and save up for all that shopping at the Grand Bazaar!

Room Tip: Ask to see all the vacant rooms before checking into the one that works best for you

All about the location. Alight at sultanahmet station, exit from the gate at airport direction, immediately take 1st right and you see the hotel. 30 meters from the station. Our room was small and basic but well maintained. All the attraction is less than 5 min walk from the hotel. Breakfast is served to the room. If you consider the price, then everything is just fine.

Stayed at this hotel in May, 2014 and found the staff to be ever so helpful. Room was a little small - but then so was the cost! Location excellent. Could use some appropriate-sized bed linens. Would have stayed longer had they had room availability.
