Well located hotel and easy to access all sights, shops, museums, and pubs in the city.At first floor there is a good chain restaurant where you can have variety of international foods too.
Only car parking is a difficult to handle.

Nice clean comfortable room - Great TV most programs are in English 'Bonus'
Awesome shower after a couple of days on the train so looked forward to a nice warm shower and did not expect such a level of comfort - It was the middle of a mongolian winter so along with the shower the room was also heated pillows were soft and slept like a baby.

Stayed there during a 5 days business trip. Good rate and clean rooms in a very central place of Ulaanbaatar. Walking distance to super market, restaurants and the university. staff is helpful. Breakfast is OK in terms of variety but the quality is not the best.

Will go back.

Pros:
- Location (just 3-min walk from Chinggis Square but don't expect any views of it)
- Room cleanliness (despite cigarette smoke)

Cons:
- Room size (if staying in a big group, get a 2-bedroom that comes with a nice living area)
- Repetitive breakfast (good bacons though)
- Average service (housekeeping often forgetting to put towels and drinking water)
- Limited English spoken (better Russian)
- Made-in-China construction material (easy to break everything - plus hot water not working for a few hours during our stay)

We stayed at this hotel in UB for one night before we began our tour of Mongolia. Given our limited time in UB, we chose this hotel as it was near the major sights.

- The hotel is located about 30 minutes from Chinggis Khaan airport via taxi. Cost was T$20k. The taxi driver had no trouble locating the hotel.

- Location is good for tourists as it is within walking distance to the major tourist sights. About 5 mins to Chinggis Square, 15 minutes to the State Department store and 25 minutes to Gandan monastery.

- Checkin was easy and the staff all spoke English.

- The facilities at the hotel appear modern and new. While the rooms are on the small side, all the essentials are available and the room was clean. The room was comfortably warm despite the cold temperatures outside.

- One minor gripe was the TV. As only a remote was available for the set top was available, the TV remained on even the set top box was switched off. We had to go through the menu buttons in the TV to manually switch off the TV.

- During checkin, they asked for our breakfast selection as no breakfast is available. The typical western style breakfast choices were available - coffee, yoghurt, sausages, eggs, bacon etc. Despite the choices, breakfast was pretty basic.

- Downstairs at the hotel is a Modern Nomads restaurant - a tourist friendly Mongolian restaurant.

All in all, Hotel Nine is a good choice for a short stay if you are visiting UB.
