The Villa is lovely, nestled beautifully amoungst mature tropical trees with a lovely swimming pool tucked in the middle. Rooms are nice, and the food is quite good. I have three complaints, both of which are deal breakers thus the poor rating,
The building (being originally a house for family living ) has thin walls and floors, thus sleeping at night is no joy unless you are the only person at the hotel. My wife and I were kept awake by the people walking on the floor above us, we even heard the water when they were showering. Speaking of showering, we had to run ours for 7 minutes before getting warm water,
Second, whilst the included breakfast is really good, the coffee was a real disapointment and very unpleasant, and like many who appreciate a good morning drink, coffee is an integral part of a breakfast.
Finally, whilst the service and staff were good and professional, the usual helpful, 'willing to go beyond and smiley faced' Cambodian experience that many westerners notice and appreciate about Cambodian staff was disappointed absent. Being French owned, I can only guess the owner over time (unknowingly) has influenced them and they have lost that natural Cambodian hospitality.
If the owner would address these issues, it would get 5 stars.
