Great value lunch specials. $16 for a starter and entree. Amazing value given the quality of the good.

I hadn't been to Open Wine for a few years so went with my family and a friend from overseas last week - all of us were bitterly disappointed. The food was mediocre at best and I'm being favourable here. Vastly over-priced for what it was $26 for a chewy thin steak and a few rounds of potatoes with a smattering of ruccola. Service was without a smile or any engagement - borderline grumpy. I simply fail to understand what warrants the prices here - these are close to London or NYC prices. All the dishes were relatively tasteless and bland and despite the restaurant being virtually empty we still found service inattentive. Wine was nice but that is about the best I have to say for this restaurant - I certainly won't be going back.

Dear Nick N

First and foremost, we trust your review is genuine and drafted in good faith, hence we take this review very seriously. That said, we remain surprised and feel horribly sorry that we had not matched your expectations on that occasion.

Yes, true enough, we had to increase our prices over the past few years, as every suppliers have increased theirs costs as well, we are merely adapting and compensating, in a reasonable manner nonetheless.

We do feel this was an accident, and if you allow us to contact you directly, we would really appreciate you give us a second chance.

We recently enjoyed lunch at Open wine and it was superb. We had eaten there before and it had been good, but this time was a marked improvement. We had the set lunch and each one of us really enjoyed the food for every course, no mean feat.

Service was good, attentive without being intrusive. All in all a great dining experience.

Went with my daughter who is vegetarian - restaurant suggests it is vegetarian friendly - not a single vegetarian dish on the menu and the only item they could offer after some discussion was mushroom risotto - nothing else - i started ordering off the specials menu - was told they had none left - the waitress who spoke little english was left to deal with us - no management in sight even though the restaurant was empty - only two tables taken - we left without eating - went to Khmer Pasteur - restaurant was full - prices lower - plenty of options and great staff - the manageress came to help us with vegetarian options - ended up having a good meal but not at Open Wine
