This hotel is in a great location and I'm sure it was once a lovely place to stay. Unfortunately, the room was musty and the wallpaper was peeling - a result of the high humidity and poor ventilation. Our room had a 'river view' but the windows were filthy, an advertising hoarding has been erected to the left and another hotel has been built in front so it was a 'river glimpse' room instead. There are good restaurants within easy walking distance and Phnom Penh is a lively city for a short stay in. The breakfast was adequate but the least inspired of all those we had on our 14 day holiday SE Asia.

This hotel does not deserve 4 stars. Our room was smelly from what i believe was a dirty never washed carpet. Bath was leaking and not super clean. The toproof restaurant was closed and they had a restaurant just next door. The restaurant was good. Best selling point. Location is ok, not fantastic.

If your expectations are nothing more than a place to rest for the night, I believe this hotel serves it right to the point perfectly. No frills no thrills, but clean and tidy. The mattress may be needing a little attention soon, but it could just be an isolated case. Generally, the hotel's breakfast is also nothing out of the ordinary, but do try its beef noodle, quite excellent for a hotel buffet line.

Room Tip: Get a room on the higher floors.

Let’s start with the positive first. The only good thing about this hotel is the location. Sadly, that’s the end of the positives! We have been travelling around South East Asia for 4 weeks; across 12 cities and this had to be only hotel which was absolutely terrible. The group had 4 rooms booked in different floors and all had the same problem!

Reasons Why?

1. Very strong smoke smell in non smoking rooms. This is a non smoking hotel.
2. Mould in the bathroom.
3. Very dirty and unhygienic – serious cleaning issues. This can lead to health issues.
4. Unfriendly staff; especially when requesting to speak to the Manager. It seems this hotel does not have a Manager that is available for guests to speak to.
5. Unhelpful Manager

We booked two nights, and on check in we immediately told the staff and management that all rooms had extremely strong smoky smell, mould in the bathroom, damp carpets and wet areas. We requested a full refund and the Manager refused. We complained for hours until the Manager agreed to refund us for 1 night only.

This hotel also had free airport transfer which they did not fulfil. They also refused to refund the transfers considering we had to catch 3 Taxis from the airport to the hotel.

Please be aware and I would seriously consider other hotels.

Always good to start with the positives. This hotel is centrally located and from our 9th floor room we had great views over the river and Phnom Penh. The lobby was very attractive and the staff very friendly but that’s about it! The rooms are in a state of disrepair – wall paper peeling, bathroom blinds stained and dirty, sheets placed directly on the mattress with no mattress protector, poor WIFI and TV connection, very average breakfast with coffee so thick and black it was undrinkable it looked like tar! No warm water for showers. Sad to see the potential of this hotel poorly managed. Our advice - select another hotel.Always good to start with the positives. Room "service" arrived cold with incorrect order. No warm water for showers and one lift so inadequate that our family of five set the overload alarm off. Sad to see the potential of this hotel poorly managed. Our advice - select another hotel.

Room Tip: Ask if there are any refurbished rooms available.
