After a week of guest houses in Georgia my brother and I decided to end our trip through the Caucuses with something a bit more comfortable- I'm so glad we did. This hotel's location cannot be beat, you are truly at the center of Yerevan. As Marriott Gold status I was able to get access to the lounge which had some of the best food of any hotel lounge I've ever come across. There was a great mix of western and uniquely Armenian fare for both breakfast and dinner. The dinner served actual quality meat and vegetables, not just hors d'oeuvres. We enjoyed it so much that we ended up eating dinner there both nights, not be cheap, but really because the food was that good.

The staff of this hotel was incredibly kind and accommodating. The ladies working in the lounge talk to everyone and give a warm welcome to Armenia. They're full of suggestions on what to see in Yerevan and want to make sure you enjoy visiting their beautiful country. The best service came from the front desk though. We checked out at 2AM for our Austrian airlines flight only to have it delayed until 8PM once we had been at the airport until 9AM. We decided to go back to the Marriott to see if we could still access our room. When we got the front desk Gajik (I think that was his name) apologized and said our room was already reserved- but he was happy to move us to a different room and give us a late checkout that night! I was floored by how kind this hotel was and it really made Yerevan a city I hope to return to.

The hotel is comfortably located on the main square. Comfortable rooms, friendly professional staff and pleasant environment makes the stay remarkable. Breakfast must be mentioned, really outstanding, possibly best breakfast you can get in luxury hotels in Armenia.

Room Tip: back section rooms have no view and there is also less light. Front ones are the best even more expensive but it is worth for it.

The hotel is a part of Armenian history and has old world charm and architecture - not new, but classic.

Located on the busy and large Republic Square, it is at the center of Yerevan and everything touristy is close by – shopping, sightseeing, museums, restaurants, convenience stores and the much mentioned ‘dancing fountains’ which are a pleasant distraction on a free evening.

We arrived early and they gave our group an early check-in around 11 am. They were also kind enough to change our room later after we expressed our concerns with the room size. The main building faces the Republic Square with fountain views. The new wing is at the back - with the pool and the gym in between the two buildings.

Our room was spacious and while the décor was classic, it was comfortable. The breakfast was good. Wifi was paid in-rooms (yes even in this day and age!) but good speed.

We took a half day city tour which was mainly a consisted of a visit to the genocide museum. The next 2 days were spent in typical siteseeing (Garni, Havuts Tar, Lake Sevan etc), which would have been perfect if the days were not so warm. The visit to wine factories in Areni region was average but we were a large group so enjoyed the long drives and many many monasteries.

The best time we had in Armenia was in Yerevan and the location of the hotel was best suited for this. We went shopping, dining, nightclubs or simply chilling at the outdoor restaurant at Marriott.

Definitely recommended if looking for a well located, classic property in Yerevan.

Old world hotel. Little confusing with the three buildings. Nice exec lounge. Great breakfast. Outdoor cafe gets a fair amount of traffic. Very friendly staff. It's in the center of town. Always something going on. Lots of stores inside. Can't beat the location.

The hotel is very centrally located. The lobby feels very cramped. We had 2 rooms (both Mariott Golds) one got upgraded to Executive room one to Superior Deluxe. Executive room was spacious had a partial view of fountains but felt very dated.
Superior Deluxe was also spacious and recently refurbished so had fresher look but the room overlooked another wing of the hotel. The wing we were in was still being renovated as the next day we weren't able to relax at all with all the noise of renovation works going on.

The hotel is in a very beautiful building and there is nothing wrong with it but it doesn't really give you feeling of a premier luxury hotel. Room service is very reasonably priced but breakfast was disappointing for a 5 star. Freshly pressed juice only in the executive lounge.

The best thing about the hotel is its executive lounge. The balcony has the best seat in the town to watch the musical fountains while having a glass of wine or beer. The food offerings were also quite decent and alcohol was available in evenings till the lounge closed which is quite generous. Service in the executive lounge was really good compared to rest of the hotel where it was average at best.

There is a travel agency in the hotel. It is not cheap but I found their service standards to be higher than the hotels, to be honest. However if looking for something simple then just take the road to the left when you come out of the lobby (you shouldn't be crossing any roads) and if you walk 3-5mins there are usually tourist taxis waiting there in mornings with big boards with whom you can negotiate directly.

Room Tip: Executive lounge balcony has the best view of musical fountains

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your comments which will help us to improve our quality of service. Currently the hotel is not under renovation, there is a restaurant which is next to the hotel on Amiryan street in which construction works are taking place. The executive rooms will be renovated very soon.
We are very happy you enjoyed the Executive Lounge and its food.

Kind regards,
