I had seen pictures of this resort but never dreamed of staying there. We had called up the sister resort on the mainland the night before to check if they had any rooms available only to be told they were fully booked but had rooms at the Hideaway. We were offered a beach villa for US $350 a night taxes included, ,but no tell no one the man on the phone had said, no we no tell no one my partner replied with glee.
When you approach the island it is quite difficult to see the villas as they blend in so well with the enviroment. We were greeted by our butler who escorted us to our villa. Nestled in a few trees just metres back from the stunning Ninh Van Bay with a open air bathroom,a luxurious four poster bed, our own private pool and fully stocked wine fridge I was in heaven. This is a very special place and at times I did feel a little tinge of !! I am not worthy!! The whole purpose of this place is to do as little as possible. Maybe go kayaking, have a swim, get a massage, do lunch, or like me just lull around pretending your rich ( but all in an eco earthy sort of way). Hey is that Sting doing yoga on the beach! Its just so beautiful here, pristine beaches, gorgeous sunsets, delicious food, and total tranquility from the hustle and beep beep of Vietnam. This is Fantasy Island complete with happy pijama wearing staff waving goodbye from the pier
We loved this place even while back in Aus when our credit card bills came and we realised what the exchange rate for US dollars was, Oh well, as they say you only live once and this certainly was living! .

You are first hit with the personal attention you recieve from the staff taking you from the main land to the island. Everything is done for you and you are constantly replenished with food and water travelling to the resort. All staff are in uniforms and when you arrive at the Jetty there is a greeting party waiting to escort you on your buggy to your accomodation. The options you have at this resort are all superb. My husband and I asked to see all the different styles of villas and we can categorically say that all the villas were pretty much the same - beautiful. The room choices were beachside villas (no stairs to reach these ones) located right on the sand - perfect for those who cannot walk distances or children. (not that we saw any children whilst there), the rock villas are built in the rocks overlooking the beach and the water villas are also built in the rocks however are right over the water (this is where we stayed) (170 stairs to get to our villa, but totally worth the walk! ) All I can say is that the accomodation was built taking into account the surrounding nature and the overall environment, built all of timber, you have two living villas (one with your bathroom, bedroom and sitting area etc and the other villa has your daybed and dining area. The restaurants (3 to choose from) and food where nothing short of amazing with healthy 'living' foods on offer around the clock - butler service at your beck and call and room service direct from the restaurant - set up for formal dining in your villa. Nothing is impossible for the staff here, they are the most accomodating and personable staff we have encountered in our travels. Each day my husband and I booked in for different relaxation treatments - each one was absolutely amazing and totally rejuvenated us from our business stresses. The thing that struck us most was that you rarely saw any of the other guests - total privacy. All the villas had private pools and decking areas. If you were looking for a retreat which offers a sanctuary of privacy then the six senses hideaway resort in Ninh Van Bay - Vietnam is the place to go!

The hotel is incredible, excellent location, far away from the noisy city. The buffet is delicious. We stayed at the Beach pool villa with private pool with direct access to the beach. The staff is very helpful. We had a personal contact who helped us a lot.
I would recommend for a romantic trip.
However the meal is very expensive.

For true 'private time' only an uninhabited island could posibly achieve more tranquility and 'Hideaway' is a true haven away from reality. It is a must for a honeymoon or that special occasion and having travelled extensively would vouch for this resort as the best. It certainly superseded many that purport to be 'the best in the world'. Although a peninsula the resort can only be reached by boat and is thus peace personified. Some beach bungalows have their own pool but the shared pool is also stunning. The beach is absolutely beautiful as are the surrounds and the sea like a warm bath. Bliss! Accommodation is spacious, luxurious without being pretentious and well very well equipped Attention to detail and catering to clients needs is paramount to the staff and they really go the extra mile to ensure a fabulous holiday. The personal butlers are attentive without being intrusive and ensure every need is met. The food is truly superb with an excellent menu and extensive wine list. Snorkelling is not the best at the resort but trips are easily arranged via the resort. All in all a wonderful experience and one that I will certainly repeat. Not inexpensive but private paradise never is!

My Wife and I stayed for 6 days on our honeymoon, and from the moment we arrived - the quality of service/ location was exemplary. We were greeted by our butler Mr Hon , whom throughout our stay accommodated all our needs and provided assistance with tours and excursions and always cheerful and courteous. The staff are friendly, warm and unobtrusive. We truly felt part of a paradise that was all to ourselves. You will often encounter the GM Godfrey who is always available for a chat and providing any assistance that he or the resort can offer. We stayed in the Beach Villa for majority of our stay and it was tremendous. Large, secluded amongst the trees and only feet away from the beach. We had the good fortune of staying in the rock villa at the end of our honeymoon and the Rock villas are a must - true seclusion and romance. So much to say about this paradise, suffice to say, perfect honeymoon
