Our food here was fine but the best thing about the restaurant was the staff. They gave great suggestions on local meals we had not tried before and were very helpful.

After finding our original choice on the riverfront closed we came across this place which was on the TripAdvisor vegetarian list. The staff were very bubbly and accommodating which was nice. Would advise not to sit outside as it is a busy road out there, does get noisy. The food took some time so we presumed it was being made fresh. Now we're by no means fussy or chefs but when it came we were a bit underwhelmed, stir fry vegetables were pretty oily and the rice was overcooked. The noodles I had were full of cracked pepper but lacked a great amount of flavour otherwise. Maybe we caught them on a bad day because most reviews here are good, but don't confuse them with a different business closer to the bridge. Also the noodles were not gluten free.

Popped in for a quick bite and whllst there tried to check put the availability of gluten free food. The guy could not speak english so difficult to ascertain. But he gave a card with a note (which I later found to say check for wheat content) for when I returned for an evening meal. When we did the young lady there spoke perfect english and was able
to understand our diet requirements with no problems (she was studying english at college). Good, simple and chesp Vietnamese food and pleasant, helpful service

We took the 7 stop DMZ tour with Mr Vinh through Stop and Go. It was a great tour and we learned so much! We were picked up by Mr Vinh and Luyt (our driver) promptly at 7:30am. He made us feel very happy and comfortable throughout the tour - we could ask anything we liked about the war. He told of his experiences and what the region was like during those dark years. As we went to place to place we really started to understand the size and importance of what happened in the 60s and 70s. Mr Vinh have it all a personable feel - and we really felt we were opening a window into history. His knowledge, care and storytelling really is second to none and it was our best trip by far in over 3 months travelling around SE Asia. Highly recommended if you really want to get close to what happened during the war.

We booked a royal tomb and citadel tour (around 6 hours) in Hue and a private transfer from Hue to Hoi An including some stops (Hai Van Pass, Cham museum in Da Nang, Marble Mountains). We liked it very much. You can cool down in a private car with a very nice English speaking and relaxed driver. As for the tour we met our driver and a very good and well informed guide who gave us a lot of interesting insights about the citadel and the royal tombs. You have a unique opportunity to talk about Vietnamese people, families, religion, music and culture. And: you will get all that for a reasonable price. Our recommendation: Don’t miss that.
