This is a good place to stay if you are traveling on a budget. We stayed here 2 nights in Nov 2016, booked through booking.com.

From the moment we booked the owner was in touch with us - we also booked a cab from the airport through the owner and even though our flight was delayed and we were 3 hours late the driver was waiting for us. The owner is very communicative and reliable.

the room itself is a little dingy, but overall clean and bug-free.

Location is great - in a little back alley, so it's peaceful yet close to where the action is.

We stayed here one night, instantly wished we had booked for longer but due to a tight schedule on our travels through Vietnam we were unable to! From the moment we booked the hostel we were in constant contact with the owner via email! He even arranged our transfer from the airport and we paid for them both when we arrived at the property. It made our 15 hour journey so much more relaxed and it was just what we needed! We felt like a bit of a nuisance as we were constantly asking him questions about bus journeys out of Hanoi, how much they cost, how long they took etc etc but every time he was smiling and helping us the best he could. The room itself is small but I'm pretty sure that is the norm in Hanoi as the city is so congested. The hotel is right amongst the hustle and bustle and takes seconds to find restaurants, bars, markets etc. We are currently staying in Ha long bay but we are still emailing the owner for help booking transfers and for more information! I cannot recommend this place enough! So cheap and so great! It's a must must must! Thank me later ;)

We got in Hanoi in the morning and the night train to Sapa was at late evening the same day.

So we use this budget hotel to store our laguages while we exploring near by in the Old Quarters.

For the price of a fan room, they had upgrade us to an air conditioning room. So we came back to the hote to have decent bath and nap before we go to the train station.

If you're a budget traveller looking for a cheap and nice place, look no further than here! The bed was comfy, the shower was nice and even though you have the option to add air con as a bonus, the fan was very strong so we probably didn't need the air con! The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location is brilliant!

Construction work was going on in the 4th floor as we were in the hotel (July 2016). We were awoken every morning at 7:00 by drills and hammer and loud noises. It is impossible to sleep in the morning or to take a nap in the afternoon. Which is something you really may want to do in Hanoi! And yet the price is the same... We stayed because it was only for 2 nights; we would have gone somewhere else otherwise.
I do not understand the positive reviews. The owner was not visible and the rest of the staff is incompetent.
Location is ok but there are hundreds of other hostels in the same area.
Other big problem: no outlet available in the room to charge phone batteries etc.
--- En français : des travaux à l'étage empêchent de dormir dès 7h du matin et jusqu'au soir. Absence de prise pour charger téléphones et appareils divers... Personnel très peu compétent. Je déconseille.
