“Worth spending 2 hours there, if you are interested in ethnology”
Reviewed 29 February 2012

The outdoor exhibition area is unaffordable to miss. Life-size houses and huts are displaying Vietnamese ethnic groups' living.

“The best place to visit in Hanoi”
Reviewed 28 February 2012

If you have one day in Hanoi, this is the best place to visit!

An excellent place to go to get a really indepth look at the peoples and places of Vietnam!

Very clean and foreigner friendly. We have a lot of fun there. You can take the bus number 14 from Hoan Kiem Lake to this place. Ask the reception for the bus or taxi to avoid the spam taxi outside street. It takes 7 kms from the Old Quarter to this place.

Highly recommend!

“Well worth a visit”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

This museum gives a great amount of information about the makeup of the different groups of Vietnamese people and the outside display of buildings is wonderful.
One tip - maybe don't go first thing in the morning as the school groups tend to be there then and the noise is deafening!

“Excellent museum in Hanoi”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

Visited the museum on the recommendation of the staff at our hotel and were not disappointed.

English interpretive signs throughout the modern and impressive museum. The large outdoor area has replicas of the houses of the hillside tribes that you can enter and visit.

We also ate at the restaurant onsite and had a good meal there.

Definitely would recommend this museum to anyone visiting Hanoi; a bit out of the way, but taxis are so inexpensive in Hanoi, it was not a problem.

The museum has great displays and the original (relocated) buildings outside are really interesting.
