If you want to know the true Hanoi, this is the place to go. It's in the midst of loads of local sights, sounds and smells and close to the railway station. The hotel is neat and clean with all that you need and very helpful reception staff. We were in and out of this hotel over 10 days and it felt like home in the end. It's not flashy but we loved the service - we were let into a room at 5.00am when our 'night train' journey had finished and had prepared ourselves to camp on the doorstep.
The window view in most rooms are of the concrete wall a metre away and sound does travel from the police academy at the back of the hotel - a karaoke wedding did provide another interesting soundscape but finished relatively early.
In all, nothing over the top but reliable, clean and safe.More
