Owner description: Hanoi’s lively Old Quarter comprises nearly 40 streets packed with shops selling all kinds of goods, each street named for its primary good or service.

There are numerous streets in Old Quarter and you must reserve at least one whole day to take a stroll through the streets. You can find similar items sold at one section of Old quarters so I think it will be easier to compare prices. You can find basically everything in this Old Quarter. And bargain as much as you can. Take time to visit Hanoi Train street in which you can see trains passing through in between neighbourhood.

Not the easiest place to get around with small kids, but gives you the authentic experience. The lake, temple, water puppets, markets and restaurants, makes this a great place to stage off on your Vietnam experience.

We stayed in the Old Quarter during our recent visit to Hanoi. The bustle is contagious and the food is authentic. We ate at many street stalls and kept going back to our favorites. Lots is stalls selling the same touristy stuff. Lots of alleys to explore. Simply walk around and get lost amongst it all.

Great place to see the weekend night market and the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. Very close to several items of interest.

An unforgettable experience. Better to be explored with a local guide, at least in the beginning. Free city tours with university students were a great way to meet local people and see the city
