Golden Lotus Boutique Hotel

The location is perfect, right at the centre of old quarters so you can keep dropping in after shopping to keep your stuff, freshen up n move out again but then there are 100's of hotels around same location around the Hoan Kiem lake. This hotel charged us $80/- per night whereas other hotels just opposite it having better rooms & service were between $40-50/- I know coz my friend stayed for one day in 2 hotels opposite. As they didn't have availability we had to come here. The food my friend says also was better than this place. The receptionist at Golden Lotus was also rude but the nice thing is as we had to leave at 6:30am for the airport they did pack some sandwiches & banana's for us. Another minus is you cannot adjust the A/c in ur room, which was rather surprising & I feel the person we called to look into it just didn't understand or didn't know how to

We stayed here for 2 nights in November, 2017. It was very well located. You can walk to many locations in the old quarter. Shopping, dining, rickshaws. The breakfast was quite good as well. A little noisy, but unavoidable in Hanoi!!

This hotel is noisy - both inside and out. At the higher levels on the street side the bells of the local church ensure you are awake at 0500 every morning. In the evening the street noise keeps you awake until at least 1030. On top of this the chime to announce the lift arrival penetrates well into the rooms as does the sound of doors closing all along the level.
On the lower levels the street, lift and doors are enough.
Too much furniture in the room means you have to move it around to have access to the bed on both sides, however the bed itself was very comfortable.
The hotel is in the Old quarter which does have a degree of charm and it is within walking distance to many sights.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back of the hotel may not have the street ambiance but might just be a little quieter.

Beware, there are 2 hotels, which are part of the same group, which have very similar names and are right next door to one another. The Golden Lotus boutique does not, as yet, have a pool (under construction) . The hotels fixtures and fittings was to a very high specification however sadly our room was next to the lift which meant it had no window and the lift's bell alerted us to every person entering or disembarking on our floor (which was rather a lot and rather disturbing of sleep in the early hours of our stay). The breakfast had a variety of options with the entertainment of the waitress facetiming someone throughout !
An okay stay but would not be likely to return given the chance.

Nice small rooms in a great location. The shower is a bit dangerous for older people as it is a high stepover. Hopeless lighting in bathroom. Can't see to shave. Would be a nightmare for makeup.
Very friendly and great service at the included breakfast.
Has free wi fi and for $25 will pick you up at the airport.
