It's always nice to find a diamond in the rough - and that is exactly what this little gem of a restaurant is... The French owner, who used to work in a 5 star hotel in Moscow is a gourmet cook who has a heart. He is a genial host and keeps his menus simple and deliciously provocative. This is French cooking with a capital "F". Needless to say, he is a very charming and witty host and never lets any of his guests feel left out... Definitely a place for a romantice evening!

Me, my wife and our two kids went to Froggy's due to Tripadvisor's user's recomendations.

A bit rough looking entrance changed soon when the owner slash cook warmly welcomend us to his restaurant.

He straightly recomended full menu for us and suggested perfect meals also for our kid's 5 and 9. On the menu there are no kid's menu so it was nice that he noticed kids right away. Dishes came in good order and they tasted absolutely great. Wife took chicken liver salad and duck liver terrine. I took entrecote grilled in garlic butter. Kids had tender and juicy chicken brest with absolutely great roasted potatoes. With maincourse we were served authentic french paquette with home made boursin cheese.

As dessert we had home made lemon tarte, chocklate mousse and kids had eclair chockolate.

We left the restaurant with great pleasure and warm feeling by the owner.

First of all, regarding confusion in being able to find this place, everyone please note the address to use is "145/42 Soi Paniad Chang 2" in case you want Google maps to find it. (not Soi Paniac Chang). If you put in this address, then Google maps shows the correct location.

I have been here before and each time it is a great experience. I continue to marvel at being able to have such a decent French meal at such a reasonable price, here in the backstreets of Pattaya. It is not white linen haut cuisine, but this is good honest French food and fabulous value. Putting this in perspective, here you can have a full meal with a bottle of wine for the same price you would pay for one single appetizer dish in a Singapore hotel.

Roll on the next time...

I followed the map's restaurant official web side and found the place very easily. If you live in pattaya south, drive the sukumvit main road toward north. Pass pattaya klang then drive until you see the pattaya orphanage big green neon sign poste to your left hnd side. Turn left after that sign then at the stop sign, turn right and drive 300 yards or more. the restaurant is located on the left hand side opposite a big massage place with a free parking lot.
A large selection from a set price menu with a few suggestions. The six of us eat from the menu, 300 b, a bargain for the quality of meals we received. Good service very friendly waiters and owner alike. A good 75 cl of red italien wine for 320 b. Too bad we didn't think of this restaurant sooner.

Living in Pattaya I get bored with Asian food quite fast. Every time I try a cafe or restaurant that claims to serve European food, I find it not so European. Not in Froggy's case. The French chef seems to cook himself and his dishes are great. Considering the price (around $10 for a three-course dinner) it's the best place in town. Froggy is not so easy to find, so it's a good idea to add some directions for a GPS. It takes us 30 min to drive from Pratumnak to Froggy but it is worth it. The kids love pancakes with wild mushrooms, my husband enjoys the duck leg or chicken breast with some terrific sauce, and I am in love with the Chef's home made soups (the pea soup is delicious). Then you have to leave some space for a dessert, all of them are great.
