I went here for a yoga retreat and loved it. Beautiful grounds, comfy quiet room and great bathroom, perfect yoga space and pool.

The staff were so kind and helpful... And the food was delicious. As retreat centres go it's one of my fave in thailand.

A hotel that has a very large compound , with a big swimming pool (empty most of the time), and a spa building (empty), and a restaurant (almost empty). Location is quite far away from chiangmai city. Place has a forestry feel. Rooms are huge. Beware of mosquitoes.

This property is in a pristine forested area and very suitable if one is in the mood to get away from the stress and turmoil of the work place or the city environment.I was here for four nights in November with a group of yoga practitioners including several who are teachers or running yoga studios. The place has all the facilities to hold events for company functions, wedding reception and the food served for bre akfast is quite good and these include vegetarian dishes. As in all Thai establishments everything else is done with a smile and genuinely fostered. For shopping one must take the yellow bus for the 35km trip.Overall its an interesting experience and no golf courses nearby.

Room Tip: Second floor although the walkaway appear rickety but can possibly hold your weight and safe to walk through.

The location is on a highway, but the rooms are located far inside,so you won't be disturbed by the passing vehicles. The minus side is that it is 30kms away from the city, with absolutely nothing within walking distance to shop or to do other extra activities. The nearest is 1km to the left of the resort, the district of Thung Siew, which has a small Tesco Express,7 Eleven and stalls where you can by local food. The next nearest town for an excellent local Saturday morning market,is in San Patong, which is 4.1 kms. To town, you can opt for comfort by taxi, which ranges from 600baht to go and return is 900 baht. If you wish for a cheaper option, take the yellow Song thaw for 20 baht to Airport plaza and another one for 40baht to inner city. The journey is 45 minutes.

The resort will have a new cafe by next year, that will be a bonus. The pool was large, but water chilly. The food is excellent ,there is room service and the staff always willing to please. The rooms need some renovation as the fixtures are extremely old. Sleeping was comfortable. Hardly much offered by TV satellite,so for English speaking guests..thats a minus. They do not provide many hangers in the room. The fridge was large, with freezer attached..Coffee and tea making facilities,.no wifi in the room, but if you sit outside the entrance, you can get the wifi.
Staff were friendly to accommodate questions on touristy locations. There are mosquitoes, but mosquito repellent was provided..wasnt a bother to me,but maybe for some. Overall, its a different experience compared to a city hotel, for sure.

This was the last night of a 9 day bike trip during the low season, and it was by far the largest complex that I visited on my travels all around the province. They were hosting a conference of university students, and that seemed to tap out most of the available resources.

The good: The staff was friendly enough, and there was usually someone nearby with good english skills. They upgraded my room which was a very nice duplex with a sleeping loft, half bathroom and large balcony reached by a spiral staircase. Large living room with good seating, TV, work area and large bathroom with shower.

The bad: No wifi in the room, and the large group's demand exceeded the capacity in the lobby/restaurant, so I couldn't make the 2 international calls I had scheduled for that evening. The front desk woman "upsold" me on a combination of massage treatments at a 2 for 1 pricing, but the spa attendant spoke no english, and my Thai is good (if you're a 4 year old) so I got no massage. The drink menu had lots of cocktails, but no spirits were available without all the sweet, fruity mixers. The food menu was extensive but the food was mediocre at best - both dinner and breakfast. Although the wait staff was friendly and attentive throughout.

I would have rated this a 1, because they had the resources, staff and pricing of a higher-end resort and failed to deliver a quality experience - which is a management issue. But overall the staff was really intent on making the experience pleasant.

Room Tip: The rooms are fine - management is the problem.
