I couldnt agree more with Julesverns1986 opening statement. Fantastic place and we were very sad to leave it, even though we only left for two nights to stay at another hotel. The owner Aoi is fantastic, she become like a sister to me within a few days and she works incredibly hard to make sure this place will be a success. She is funny, kind, caring and helpful. I would also recommend that you listen to her when it comes to the trips you can book. I went on the Woody's Elephant safari and it was one of the best days I have had in a long time. The facilities are what you would expect, this is not a 5* hotel but a backpackers hotel/hostel. A Lovely chilling area in the courtyard, on a quiet road away from the hussle and bussle. The Gardens are beautiful and the furniture comfortable and rustic. I really like the ambience of the buildings, its not some trashy concrete bloke thrown up to house tourists, these were once proper homes for proper people and the neighbours still are. If you want a great experience that is difficult to tear yourself away from then you will definitely find it here.

Room Tip: We stayed in the twin room on the first floor of the second bungalow when looking at the bar. It has...

This, my fellow travelers, is the type of hostel you would like to arrive in after a long, exhausting day on the move. That is, not in a sense of luxury (quite hard beds, hot showers though), or this hostel having a very busy social scene. No, this is the best place to arrive in because of the great, welcoming central yard and the loveliest hostess you can imagine: Aoi. She has been running this place for two months now, and she is doing a great job with a lot of heart for all of the guests coming and going. She has a natural way of making everybody feel very much at home and helps you out with you travel-plans wherever she can. The courtyard is a good place to meet other (young) travelers.

Friendly staff. Very helpful in providing information on anything you want to look into as well as bookings (for ex. Trekking, muay Thai fights, bus transportation). Clean facilities and plenty of outlets. Beds are a little hard though. Cafe on site, no menu. Easy to fall asleep while reading a book in the gazebo by the gate (watch out for the mosquitos if you try). Located on a quiet street within the old city walls and Sunday market is a 5 min walk away while Night bazaar is about 15 min. Will be first option for accomodation when I visit Chiang Mai.
