We stayed at the fantastic X2 resort for 5 nights and Oxygen restaurant is part of the resort, but I really do think it deserves to have a review on its own.
Oxygen is such a beautiful restaurant, all walls and ceiling are glass, and nestles in the middle of beautiful old tamarind trees. As you walk in, to the left is a gorgeous full bar carved out of marble, few more steps in are meticulously set tables which were placed at a perfect distance from each other. One of the glass wall completely opens up to the outside with a few more tables and the well kept garden and view of the Ping river. We normally would venture of and explore the city where we visit and look for good restaurants to enjoy local cuisines, but Oxygen was so great that we only went out twice and the rest of the time we ate at Oxygen. I mean we were there for the complimentary breakfast, lunch and dinner. For one of the dinner we decided on the tasting menu and it was definitely one of the highlight of our trip. Michelin star chef Nicholas doesn't disappoint. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted phenomenon. 5 courses and every single course was delectable. We took a few food pics but probably won't do it justice. A great wine list to accompany a wonderful meal is hard to find in Thailand but Oxygen has it. Great selections for both red and white wines. We were introduced to Villa Sparina Gavi thanks to the wonderful restaurant manager. The whole wait staff is so friendly and their timing is just perfect. Never a moment that we felt rushed to overbearing. Our flight was at 1 pm and we had to squeeze in our last lunch here at 11 and it was totally worth rushing to the airport after.
