“Amazing Little Find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 May 2012

This hotel was small but perfectly formed. We stayed here for 5 nights as part of our honeymoon trip with another couple, we booked extremely last minute and were very lucky to get rooms during Songkran. On the first night we stayed on the ground floor which was a bit on the noisy side but the next morning Pearl kindly informed us that there was now a few other rooms available if we wished to move- we moved to a room on the 3rd floor and it was perfect. The rooms we had were just the standard rooms but I found them to be of an extremely high standard, they were really modern, really good bathrooms, good AC, clean, nicely decorated, good size.
There was a cute pool and a nice little breakfast area and the breakfast was really good, there was lots of choice and everything we ordered was beautiful.

The location was great with a short 5 min walk into town and Pearl arranged everything we needed from day trips to scooter higher.

We would highly recommend The Castle and will definitely stay here again if we re-visit Chiang Mai. This was an extremely lovely hotel with a budget hotel price tag.

Room Tip: Try to stay on the upper floors as the ground floor can be noisy.

Room was lovely, but right by pool so noisy during the day. Breakfast was yummy and pearl will help you with any tours, visits or tuk tuks you need booking. The location is quiet so you have to walk a bit for restaurants, but dont bother, eat at the street stalls instead for yummy cheap food- just scout where the locals eat and make sure its cooked in front of you so you know its not been standing out in the heat! Overall, a really nice friendly hotel which we would recommend.

The Castle is a good find. The owner and her staff are exceptionally pleasant, kind and attentive. There was pick-up at the airport and when I had to move to another hotel to join friends, the same young man who picked me up at the airport gladly took me there. Rooms are basic but are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is good and filling. Location is near the Saturday market and close enough to the old city but away from noise and crowds. Places to eat within walking distance. Great value for money.

At a low price ($30) you are living in a lovely little chateau in a residential area just outside the old town. It takes 10min to walk to the old town but in turn you get great peace and quiet and see how many of the residents of chiang mai live. Old town might be a better location if you plan to go out a lot but if you want to be close but relax, stay here. The old town is rather busy and has quite a bit of traffic.
The price includes a nice breakfast in an outdoor setting at a pool (choice from 9 menus), simple clean rooms, wifi, bottled water.
It is a great bargain in Chiang Mai.
And the staff is super friendly and makes you feel like at home.

We stayed here for 6 days at the end of Feb. We had a standard room on the first floor and have to say it was perfect for us. The room had everything we needed inc large fridge, TV, free wi-fi etc. It was also very quiet being a short 5 min walk from the main town area. The hotel only has about 15 rooms we think and the staff are always so friendly and willing to help. Breakfast was always freshly made with a good choice of options. Pearl especially always has a smile on her face. Will definately stay here again when we next visit.
