We chose this hotel for the start of our month in Thailand. Arriving at either airport make sure you join the queue for a metered taxi where you get a ticket number then allocated a driver. Ask for the meter to be put on and it will be no more than 500bht. If travelling between 7-9pm consider the sky train as it is the end of the Thai working day and the roads are rammed!!
It is an impressive building in a quieter part of the city near to MBK building and the national stadium as good points of reference. Taxi drivers were not always familiar with the hotel so be sure to get a card from the hotel which is so much easier to just show a taxi driver when you want to get back!
Check in was great, really friendly staff. We were given an upgrade, no idea why but it gave us a great view from the 21st floor. Air con great, beds harder than UK but this is common in Thai hotels and wonderful pillows (a personal brownie point!)
We booked room only and didn't eat here so cant comment on the food.
Be aware that alcohol is VERY expensive here, a pint about £9 due to tax etc so check prices before you buy! 7-11 very close and a fridge in the room so a better choice!

Strict rules on times to sell and serve alcohol too so check these out. This really varies by city and region too! Wine is incredibly pricey so consider packing a couple of bottles of get stocked up on the in flight freebies!!
The views from the top of the hotel are great and the pool is so welcome which is in the middle of the hotel but gives a good view. We even watched the football from in the pool! Quite a few sunbeds and towels provided. Mostly in the shade but this is very welcome in the Bangkok heat!
The location is good as it far enough to be quieter but only about 80bht in a meter taxi to get to busier areas such as the ksroad. Tuk Tuk are fun but agree your price before you get in, on average 2 or 3 times more expensive than a taxi.
If travelling to the airport the hotel has a private car which is not much more expensive than a cab so ask for that for a comfy transfer.
All in all a good choice for a few nights to explore the city.More
