I stayed for a month at rompo mansion last march. First thing when i got there was they were renovating the place.
The location is good since i dont want a place where there are lots of tourists puking all over the road.

The rooms big and is clean, aircons really cold. NO FREE WIFI, which in this day and age should come with the room and not as an option.

The staff are nice and they help you out as best as they can.

Its near the mrt and the market which is a plus.

Thank you very much for taking time to post your review. From the review, it appears that you intended to give us a 4 or 5 star rating. Thanks for mentioning our great location, our big and clean rooms and our helpful staff. We decided to offer the WiFi in our budget priced rooms as an optional extra, same as we do with the fridge, TV, cleaning and towel service, etc. in an effort to make the room more affordable and it has been a great success. Many of our tenants use WiFi hotspots and have no requirement for our WiFi. Our renovations are almost complete but it is and was our company policy to notify each and every customer before they check in that renovations are ongoing. Once again thanks and we hope to welcome you back in the not too distant future.

Was v happy with stay here, clean and spacious and nice swimming pool too. Located on Rama 4 road and near Khlong Toei market. Just up the road past the market found the best Pad Thai shop called Pad Thai Mae Am (find it on TripAdvisor) a must!

Was going to give it 4 stars but really it deserves all 5 as it suited me perfectly. It may not be for you, so first the drawbacks:
• Khlong Toey has nothing to offer tourists
• Closest subway (BTS) stop is 1.5km away, Skytrain 2km away
• Limited amenities and facilities (because: serviced apartment)

The biggest positives for me (and this is highly subjective):
• Wifi (not just fast but omg STABLE)
• Balcony with great view
• Very decent rate
• Attentive staff
• Location

Rompo was the fourth and last hotel I stayed in on a recent work trip to Bangkok. Wasn't expecting much so booked just two nights. Ended up staying for five.

Wifi was unquestionably the best of the four hotels: Fast and, more importantly, extremely stable, which is a rare find. Poor connectivity noted in some older reviews here concerned me before booking, but there were no such reports in more recent reviews. Spotted roughly 15 routers in the corridor of each floor when I checked in, so management apparently acted on the feedback. Good sign.

The two rooms I stayed in were newly renovated, comfortable and spacious, but the highlight was the balcony. I didn't anticipate such a great view. Get a north-facing room; the Sukhumvit cityscape unblocked by low-rise buildings bordering Rompo is beautiful at night. Balconies on the 9th floor (Grand Superior Rooms) offer better views, while those on the 11th (Superior Deluxe Rooms) have solid concrete railings. Still, the balcony was only second best of the four hotels - it was never going to be a fair fight up against Royal River Hotel.

Rates: Best value of the four. Zen Rooms offered the lowest rate thanks to a new sign-up discount (and it's also cheaper through their mobile app). Make sure you shop around, Booking.com was a close second. Avoid Expedia, seriously.

Staff: Not just accommodating but genuine and attentive, especially when I extended my stay and changed rooms. Impression was almost ruined by a receptionist who reminded me thrice to not be a minute late when I requested a late check-out. Coming at the end of a five-night stay, my first dealing with this surly "man" was unpleasant but couldn't negate his colleagues' warmth and respect.

Location: A little out of the way but not a problem with rideshare apps like Grab (forget about hailing cabs from the roadside). A Tesco which closes at midnight is 300 metres away, some really good eateries near there (one with a long queue of locals outside), and it's just a 20-min walk to the heart of Sukhumvit up colourful Soi 22 or swanky Soi 24 (the more sensible route after dark, past the upmarket hotels and their security out front).

tl-dr: Loved it, will definitely stay there again.

Room Tip: North-facing room for better view. Avoid rooms with solid concrete balcony railings (check the photos, which are accurate).

Rompo Mansion is a good hotel but lacks amenities. Rooms were very clean and spacious. Shower and bathrooms good. Maid service excellent. Small store downstairs for convenience items. English is a challenge. Tesco is close so good. Transport slightly difficult but just used Uber.

Thank you so much for taking time to post your lovely review. Thanks in particular for mentioning our clean, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Our maid service is receiving great reviews almost every day and we are really glad you agree. Our location is one of our selling points and we are very happy you appreciated it. We also have full-time native English speaking staff on site, 24 hours a day. Not sure what you mean by a lack of amenities, as on site we have a huge swimming pool and jacuzzi, fitness center with steam room, mini mart, travel agency, currency exchange, beauty salon, massage shop, 2 restaurants, coffee shop, diving school, 24 hour snooker, full service laundry, a Muay Thai gym and a Muay Thai Academy, a co-working space and an international business center. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you and yours a very Happy and Healthy 2018

This is a great hotel but the location is not so vibrant - however, when you look at the quality of comfort including its beds, room's and washroom's amenities etc., its a great place to stay with sound sleep. The cost I paid was reasonably good but probably it was at the discounted rate by bookings portals. This is kind of at the back side of Sukumvit area and there is not much in terms of night life, shopping or even good food. Some mall and street food etc are available close by but not really very interesting. However, one can go to main Sukumvit area by taking the motorbike taxi in 20 minutes or so.

Many thanks for your lovely review. Thanks in particular for mentioning our great facilities and the high level of comfort you experienced. In our website, we refer to our location as being " far enough away from the hustle and bustle of central Bangkok to provide a laid back location for the perfect getaway, yet it is close enough to be within easy reach of everything that Bangkok has to offer". It is regretful that you did not ask our reception desk to recommend some restaurants, as we are only a few minutes walk from a huge selection of Thai and Seafood restaurants and Bangkok's largest selection of Japanese restaurants, available in any one location. Thanks also for mentioning the fact that we are only a short motorcycle ride from the middle of the Bangkok nightlife.
