Advantages of the hotel is that it is in a nice neighbourhood for the visit but not in a very busy road like khoa san.
However it was very hard to enjoy our nights cause the wall between the rooms are very thin (and there was a communication door with another room) and the noise on the street was never ending. Service phone was ringing too often in the corridor, waking us up.
However the price was very fair for the service with the pool and A/C, people were nice and helped us to book taxis.

This one of the two worst hotels i have ever experienced. And we travel a lot.

Our tour company checked us in to this hotel, by the morning I had checked TA and found a better hotel down the street, which I was going to pay for even though we had already paid for this hotel. Another night of gagging was simply not worth it.

When we checked in, we were told we had a king bed but it was barely a small queen. The room was dingy but more critically, it reeked of sewer smell or durian? So we asked for another room. Apparently all the king beds were booked, even though our Reservations were made months before. they offered us two twin beds just down hall. it seemed better so we took it hoping for a good night's sleep before we could move into the room type we booked.

Unfortunately, while the room was no cleaner or appealing than the first, similar dinginess, stains on minimal furniture, old curtains , overnight we experienced waves of sewer smells from the bathroom. even watering all the drains didn't help. After a very unsettled nights sleep, the smells and noise from front entrance, poor sound proofing on the flimsy insecure balcony doors, we had decided to move hotels.

I forgot to mention the two twin beds had high wood railings to prevent anyone from falling out over night. Great for kids but my wife had bruises from lifting herself out.

The front desk which had been unhelpful the night before changed its tune when manager showed up. Fortunately by this time I had arranged for two rooms at Hotel Nanda, see my review 5 out of 5,

As our friend put it, an upgraded room in a crappy hotel is still a crappy hotel.

luggage security was abysmal, we were assured our luggage would be locked up, later when we came back to hotel, I just walked to where it was jammed in some corner and walked out with it, unchecked. no staff paid the least attention.

The tour company allpointseast uk or all points east representative in Thailand after we informed them we were not staying at de moc, eventually said they would pay. I found it ironic as we have since seen Facebook posts of our rooms at the better hotel on their facebook website. held out to be the rooms provided on our type of tour.

Definitely would not recommend this hotel, unless I was just using it kto shower up from backpacking or camping. a tour company hotel,

pool looked nice.

Room Tip: two rooms, Floor 2, above front entrance, extremely smelly and loud, by elevator

Enjoyed our stay here, found the staff to be very friendly and enjoyed the onsite Cafe/bar open 2pm to 11. The hotel is older style but clean and comfortable. The arranged taxi pick up from the airport for $800 baht, which was a relief to know we had someone waiting for us in a city we did not know. Communication with hotel prior to arrival very good. Breakfast is typical Asian/ western fair and a reasonable selection. Handy to what we wanted to do, although the free tuk tuk was not mentioned. Happy to recommend. I was fascinated by a little pet rabbit they had in the garden.

We stayed here at the beginning of our trip to Thailand and the end. If I had known that I could of cancelled the second visit with no charge I would of done it.
This hotel is drastically tired and in need of a refresh. The rooms felt dusty and need a update. I think all rooms have balconies however the room we got on our second visit looked onto a brick wall, literally cm's away and looking down the gap is being used as a place to drop rubbish.
Positives....well the pool area is ok and its only about a 15 min walk to Khao San, but really that's it. For a similar price you could stay at Rambuttri Village Plaza and having stayed here before i would pick this hotel over Hotel De Moc.

Room Tip: Check your balcony is not facing a brick wall.

Stayed a week before heading to Malaysia. Reasonably accessible for those with restricted mobility. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Free tuk tuk to Khao San Road. Breakfast was yummy and restuarant is great. Room service was handy and appreciated after a long day touring aroung Bangkok. Happily stay here again.
