Perfect tour, you won't lose interest. Lots of cool factoids and artifacts there. I found the place pretty inspiring, only wish I could have photographed inside the house.

“Quite good”

Interesting place to learn a little about Thai culture. The guides are not that good in speaking english, and speak very low. A must if you with to buy sillk of any kind, incl. childrens cloth.

Fascinating explanation of Thai silk industry and customs as well as the design and purposes of homes and rooms.

“a different kind of experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2012

Much much quiter than everthing else we have seen in Bangkok. Very interesting tour that is not too long. Great little restaurant as part of the complex, Nice contrast to visiting the temples.

“Entertaining tour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 February 2012

Great tour taken by very well-spoken guides through a particularly beautiful home. Somewhat detracted from by the mandatory overpriced shop attached to it. But then Jim Thompson was always a seller of silk so it is fairly defensible. The restaurant is well worth a look-in.
