Can’t beat the location if you want to visit Wat Pho, Grand Palace, Wat Arun, Khaosan Road, China Town, the river, etc. Staff noticed it was my son’s birthday from our passports, brought a cake to the room and sang happy birthday.

Room Tip: Riverside has amazing view of Wat Arun.

I stayed just for one night to experience the Wat Arun view.
Actually the view was the same as I expected, but the building seems to be renovated from a warehouse .
Too high ceilings and no elevator!
And the building is lacking insulation.
I can’t say what is the cause of noise at midnight.

Dear Signature Kaitaka15, thank you for choosing to spend your one night in Bangkok with us at sala rattanakosin Bangkok. Our building is quite unique and is situated in the historical part of old Bangkok and is as you mentioned and thus is a listed building which restricts us from installing a lift (elevator) or from making certain structural changes to the building to ensure it keeps its original features and historical importance. We hope you’ll consider returning to sala in the future. Let us wish you all the very best for the New Year 2018 ahead, the sala management.

Stayed her from the 7th to 9th December 2017 (stayed previously for 3 nights in 2014) after staying in Chiang Mai and Kata (Phuket). Booked a river/Wat Arun view room and the views of the river were captivating. The room was a good size and had everything you would expect from a mid range boutique hotel.
The hotel is in a great location for visiting Wat Pho and the Grand Palace (5-10 minutes walk) and is a 10 minute tuk tuk ride from the Golden Mount and Khao San road.
Cocktails on the rooftop bar are a must with spectacular views all round!

Room Tip: Views of the river and Wat Arun are worth the few extra £'s

The location with view to the riverside and Wat Arun is fantastic. The backside and the street to the entrance are not so nice. The service personal is very friendly and always ready to help. Important attractions like "Grand Palace" and "Wat Phra Kheo, " with the Emerald Buddha, Temple "Wat Pho" with the declining Buddha and "Wat Arun" are in walking distance or 5 min. across the river with a boat.
The rooms should give a little more space.
