Stayed for 9 nights.
Arrived and the bellboy was to slow in helping us with luggage. No welcoming.
At the front desk, the lady seemed a bit stressed and unpersonal. Didn't quite feel the welcoming there either.
Luggage was to slow to our rooms, seems like this hotel is on a slow modus sometimes
The rooms Superior are pretty nice , very clean and big enough. Great 42" tv with many channels. And I think its the first hotel I have been to were channels are stable without any "snow" or disturbance. Also there is a extra HDMI cable if you need to connect devices to the tv.
Beds are very good and soft, so are the pillows.
Our room facing the street on 2 nd floor, there was some noise but didn't take our beauty sleep away. Not really a big issue. Seems good isolated.
Rooms are bright, but I didn't quite figure out all the light settings...
Shower has fair enough pressure, and it is separated from the bathtub. To be frank the bathtub is one of the smallest I have seen. Not European size...
Restaurant: Food is ok, service is slow and the staff seems to misunderstand/forget parts of the orders. When seated outside we had to go inside and ask for service a few times.
They have service charge so we didn't tip of any large sums.
Swimming pool area has a good view of the skyline and streets. Pool is good enough and so are the beds in the pool area. Downside is that you have to call service in order to get a towel. If you don't return them you will be charged 500 THB. Towel was old but clean.
Security: After a a few hours in the pool I came down to my room, and my door was slightly open, and no housekeeping near by? I complained over the phone to front desk but they seem to don't understand the issue or wanted to apologize. I stayed in my room, and after an hour cleaning lady came to make up the room. Morning after my wife complained to the front desk, but again they didn't even understand the issue in thai language either!
This is a serious mistake leaving guest doors open while cleaning other rooms, and should NOT happen again.
Just to mention I did read a similar complain about this hotel were someone managed to steal money from a room because the doors where opened by staff.
Its pretty sad, because this hotel has a great potential but really need more training.
I might give it a second chance but then I want to feel welcome.
To mention, I did not know that this hotel has the same management as Dynasty Grande. I have a review of that hotel too, and not staying there again.
From reading other reviews of the Dawin, I see they have done the same "mistakes" overcharging without saying anything beforehand. Just like Dynasty Grande did to us.
Last but least, our checkout 5.30 AM went like a charm.The lady working at the frontdesk was polite and service minded. So, thank you for that! This gave me a second thought that I might stay with you again.
