My family and I have stayed at Vie five times now, and it's the best hotel for us in Bangkok! I love the location, size of the deluxe suite, the breakfast buffet, and some of the staff. It's great to stay just steps away from the BTS and so fast to Paragon, MBK, etc.

We first stayed there in January 2010, and loved it. It was perfect for us to have a separate (huge) living room and bedroom for our baby. The breakfast had a good selection of food. Then for a couple of stays it seemed like the variety went down a bit, but during this most recent visit in February 2012, I think EVERYTHING in the hotel has improved. The service is great, the food has gone up in quality and there have been other significant improvements around the hotel. For example, we used to have to take the elevator down to the lobby and walk across the driveway to the pool in the front building. Now there's a walkway to go directly to the pool from the gym.

We've been happy to get to know some of the staff throughout our stays too - Khun Pornthip in housekeeping is a gem. She is friendly and very helpful, she's always remembered my family in thoughtful ways. K. Party in reception is wonderful and has been more helpful than the previous staff we've interacted with there. I'd like to thank K. Oh in dining for arranging a special birthday surprise for my son when he turned 2 during one visit. There are others who have also made our visits pleasant.

The wifi is free in the lobby, restaurant, and business center, but it would be nice to have it in the rooms too. Last year we paid about US$10 per 24 hours.

Very highly recommended.

Room tip: The rooms facing Paragon and Central World have lovely views of the city at night.

My fiancé and I stayed here for 3 nights in late December 2011. We booked through Agoda.com for about $60/night. After flying all the way from Canada, and it was so nice to check in to such luxurious accommodations. We were greeted with cocktails upon arrival, and check-in was quick.
Our room was HUGE, and so was the bed! Soooo comfy, nicely decorated, and immaculately clean. The only thing I didn't like about the room was the fact that the wooden blinds didn't move, so you could only get a partial view out the window. Other than that it was perfect. Probably the nicest hotel room I've ever had to be honest.
We enjoyed lying out at the rooftop pool on Christmas morning, with ice cold orange juice. Although it is in the middle of the city, and next to the skytrian it somehow feels very relaxing and zen! Loved it.
The location is pretty good. Easy walk to MBK, and the skytrain. We ended up taking cabs or tuk tuks most of the time, but they are really inexpensive so it was not really an issue.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Bangkok who is not wanting the backpacker experience. The VIE is luxurious and modern without the stuffiness that comes with a lot of up-scale hotels.

i stayed at Deluxe room which is large and fine enough for 2 persons, the room facilities are 5 stars'. breakfast and dinner buffet are good too, i like the chocolate fountain at the dinner buffet, it was good for kids to enjoy eating there too : )

the location of the hotel is good for people who love the convenience with transportation and commercial centers. its just a few steps from the hotel to get the Sky Train (Rajchathewi Station) which is just only one station from Siam station, the main station where u can catch the train to the other sides of Bangkok. its also possible to take a walk to the Siam area too , only takes about 5 mins

All in all , i didnt have any problem with this hotel. everything is good with this hotel and i think it worths the money u spend for it.i mean u can find all facilities that 5 stars hotels have. but if u really want a real 5 stars hotel with perfect 5 stars service and dont mind to pay more then i think staying at Sheraton, St. Regis, Kempinski, Plaza Anthene, Oriental etc. would probably be better choices

theres music turned on like 24 hours in the elevator (not sure) but i sometimes could hear it from the room

The service was average but a couple of employees went above and beyond. My room included breakfast and dinner buffets which were nice. The restaurant had a nice Jazz couple during dinner, the chef came out and greeted his guests.
The room was very spacious with a nice view in the evening of the lights of new Bangkok.
It is extremely convenient to the sky train (BTS) as well as the Airport Express train, all of the shopping malls and Jim Thompson House.
Don't be fooled by their misleading pictures, there is no rooftop pool on top of the hotel, there is a pool on the 10th floor on an adjacent building.

Room tip: deluxe rooms are really large and worth the added expense

Stayed here twice on our trip to Thailand, both times we were upgraded to a suite. Very comfortable, nice clean, quiet hotel in ideal location for skytrain and shops. Made mistake of having supper here one night, advertised as 2-for-1 buffet but turned out to be most expensive meal we had in Bangkok - no prices! We had trouble with our room safe one day, batteries had gone apparently but it was fixed pretty quickly. Staff helpful.
