The hotel with most consistently incompetent service.
It felt as if the hotel was opened for business for the first time with all staff on training every day - from taking 50 minutes to complete registration and being dragged around 4 rooms with invalid keys to ignoring requests completely over and over again. Staff hardly spoke any English (which does help if you run a 5* hotel), they said ‘yes’ to everything, and infuriatingly, did not do any of it. I had to order a taxi to the airport from a neighbouring hotel, because I didn’t want them screw up on the basics, again.
Very limited facilities: only one average quality restaurant, bar in the lobby reminded of a train station and shut before 11pm, rooms were furnished in a modern style with an abundance of gadgets, which on a practical side, are unnecessary and badly laid out.
The location is great if you are keen to do Western shopping in an air-conditioned mall, but for all other Bangkok experience prepare to take a 2-3 km journey in a taxi or on a sky train.
Very far from a 5 star experience, it will only pass on for a business traveller on a one night stop over.

Dear valued guest,

Thank you for your insightful feedback. I am sorry to hear that your experience failed to meet your expectations. Please accept my sincere apologies and rest assured that every effort is being made to address the issues raised. From the speed/quality of service standard and tracking, travel path of the front desk section, English abilities of the front of the house team, as well as the opening time and layout of the facilities.

I hope you will give us another chance to welcome you back to VIE Hotel Bangkok in the future.
Sincerely,
Quality Manager

And when I checked out all they could say is ,well we dont know what to say to you. No reinburstment, when I know it was not my fault, I am pretty sure my white shirt got mixed in the sheets.

My sister and I (in our early 40s) stayed for 6 nights on a shopping holiday. From the moment we checked in, tired and grumpy after a late night flight, the service was impeccable. We were upgraded to a superior room which was a relaxing sanctuary. Breakfast was delicious each morning, all items fresh and regularly refreshed and restocked. Nothing 'ran out' (a personal irritant of mine!) We would return to our room after a day of shopping to find our room cleaned and refreshed. We called room service for our evening meals four times and each time we were extremely satisfied. Staff were very attentive and responded to our queries about shopping, tourist activities and transport with excellent English. The hotel offers a Tutuk service to several local destinations and the driver was fantastic, warm and friendly (without being too familiar) -he made us feel very safe, we referred to him as our 'James Bond! This is a hotel that should not be overlooked in favour of the big, well known ones. It is quiet but refined and extremely good value. A hotel can make or break a holiday and this one certainly made ours.

Room Tip: The superior deluxe is ideal for a family with two kids. The couches become two very roomy single beds and there is a TV in both rooms.

The hotel service was excellent, good location which is walking distance to MBK and their front desk staff are very efficient. Room are well maintain and clean. Except their pillow is too soft. Overall through out the 4days stayed was perfect.

To be honest we got stuck in bangkok with a breakdown in flight connections. We got the sky train from the airport into central Bangkok unsure of where to stay the evening and what to do. The train was brill only 35p !!!! Anyway got off at the terminus and stunmbled into the first place we could find - what a stroke of luck. Vie only had one room left - a suite which we took at a very reasonable rate. What a joy. This place is deliciously stylus and very very comfortable. We would definitely think about staying here if we ever stopped over in Bangkok again.
