Stunning hotel. Nothing is too much trouble. Beautifully clean, wonderful food. If you have a bird watching tour ask for Hari, he's an expert and a wonderful guide. We stayed in room 13 which was the lodge Princess Anne stayed in when she visited and we loved it.

Dear 686caroline,

Thank you so much for staying with us. I am so happy that you enjoyed the walks with Hari (a very special guide as you note), the rooms, cleanliness and food. All our guides are great raconteurs, companions, knowledgeable about the flora and fauna, local culture (being very local themselves!) and enjoy nothing more than exploring with our guests.

Nepal may not be large, but it is certainly rich in nature, culture and topography. Do return, explore more of this land....and visit to share your latest stories with us.

All good wishes from everyone here,

Marcus, Ishwar, Jhalak, Dol Raj, Lalu and Gyan

You will feel like you have entered a different world altogether when you arrive at Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge. Firstly, you are treated to the most amazing views, which you never tire of even after spending days in Nepal. The Annapurna range in all its glory can be truly appreciate from the lodge, and you are not to miss the stunning picture opportunity of the mountain reflection on the infinity pool.
The lodge itself is very comfortable and relaxing, you can do as much or as little as you like. The staff are incredibly attentive - each and every one of them. Marcus, the resort MD is so warm and friendly and so knowledgeable when it comes to Nepal, and most other things that it makes for a very wonderful stay all around.
I would love to return soon, next time perhaps with the entire family when it is winter and there is good excuse to sit in the common area around the fire :)

Best,
Pramila

Dear Pramila S,

Thank you for your lovely review - it was super to catch up with you all and enjoy time together after your trek. There was recently a Facebook entry calling the lodge entrance the Doorway to Paradise and we do aim to have a somewhat other-worldly atmosphere in and around the lodge.

So often in life it is the little things that make all the difference - hopefully we have gathered a sheaf of little things that sum up to a special experience. Our aim is always to strive for sincerity and authenticity, be it the Nepali meals, the walks through local villages exploring local culture but without 'stage management' or in the genuine hospitatilty and care of the staff.

All the team loved your visit and seeing you again. You are much missed in your former avatar!

Very best wishes,

Marcus, Ishwar, Jhalak, Dol Raj, Lalu and Gyan

After a hectic 2 week tour in India and Nepal this was a perfect place to relax and unwind before returning to UK. Perched on the top of a steep hill the location is amazing with fantastic views over the Annapurna mountain range and down into the Pokhara valley. One didn't mind getting up at 0545 to watch the sun rise over the mountain range, having been woken by the staff with a pot of tea delivered to the room. At the other end of the day sit on the terrace with tea and home made cakes and biscuits to watch the sun set over the mountains. In between very knowledgeable nature guides cater for all abilities with short or long walks bird and butterfly spotting. Alternatively, relax by the infinity pool gazing across to the mountains.

Simple but well cooked and presented food with choice between Nepalese or Continental with most of the food grown locally or on site. All waiter served, hot and fresh from the kitchen. Tea and coffee with home made cake and biscuits on tap whenever you want.

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you. Marcus, the manager took the time to meet and get to know all the guests.

It was such a shame that I only had 3 nights there, I would have liked to spend so much longer and experience more nature walks.

Fantastic

Room Tip: Rooms 1 to 7 are the easiest to access. Some rooms have steep steps down as the hotel is on a steep hillside

Dear Teresa352,

It was such a pleasure meeting you and your fellow travellers. Thank you for a wonderful review covering so many aspects of the lodge and its environs. Our three guide, Hari x 2 and Sajan, all ably led by Jhalak like nothing more than taking guests out to explore the local area be it to see birds, learn about the diverse local culture, or just for a healthy walk through forest and farmland, enjoying the scenery. There is such a range of options from a gentle potter for an hour through to a full-day hike with an excellent picnic lunch (and breakfast for a really long walk!).

Sujan leads the bar and dining room stewards under the watchful eye of Dol Raj. All strive to ensure guests have what they want when they want it - a simple concept really, but so often overlooked! Keeping things simple yet tidily done is our watchword. We would rather avoid the over-complicated done badly and do the simple well.

As for the mountains in clear weather - our favourite is during the fuller phases of the moon when they shimmer in the soft light - after almost 20 years working here, no one tires of the amazing views. There are not so many places where you can sit in shirtsleeves having bacon and eggs for breakfast with 3 peaks of over 26,000 feet (8,000m) visible before your table!

Many thanks again for your super review,

Lalu, Dol Raj, Gyan, Ishwar, Jhalak and Marcus

This is a truly wonderful place to arrive at after a week of trekking (with sometimes hilarious hospitality conditions!). Or indeed just to arrive at after the hurly burly of Kathmandu! Marcus oversees a superb hotel with glorious views, beautiful lodge-style rooms and simple home-cooking. It is with some reluctance that I left, and to my disappointment now back home, there is no thoughtfully placed hot water bottle in bed at the end of the day, or mosquito net drawn to envelop me and my dreams.

Dear Katherine K,

We love the idea of our mosquito nets enveloping guests' dreams! Thank you for your delightful review that so captures what we strive to achieve. How often it is the little things in life that are most memorable - such as a cosy bed. Amar and his team of stewards work hard to ensure our guests are always comfortable in their rooms.

Lalu and the team in the kitchen have evolved a pleasant compromise between the over-fancy presentation of restaurant food and the simple comforts of good home-style cookery, both for western and Nepali meals. In all aspects, freshness and authenticity is their guiding principle.

Thank you again and do return to explore more of this small yet magical land.

With all our good wishes,

Gyan, Lalu, Dol Raj, Jhalak, Ishwar and Marcus

Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge provided the perfect break from the rush, noise and dust in city life in Nepal. From the moment you arrive the staff are attentive and provide helpful information in a non intrusive way. The rooms, each a cottage on its own, are spacious, comfortable and every need is catered for. Early morning views of the mountains are spectacular and visible from each of the rooms. The food is so good at each meal, individual needs having been taken into account, it is worth losing a bit of weight before staying there. A place to be returned to.

Dear 192Lynne192,

What a lovely insight into some of the small ways we all try to make everyone's visit to Tiger Mountain Pokhara Lodge special. Thank you for writing and for staying with us.

Jit Bahadur is our Head Gardener and he does deliver an excellent range of salads and other light foods to the kitchen daily....in addition to Head Cook Lalu and team's richer fare.

Jhalak and the guides, Hari x 2 and Sajan, are always happy to take guests walking to explore....and perhaps work up an appetite for more food!

Do come back again soon - it is always a pleasure having you visit.

With best wishes from us all,

Ishwar, Lalu, Gyan, Dol Raj, Jhalak and Marcus
