A beautifully built stupa in the very Center of town ..you have to buy a ticket at a very nominal price to visit . One of the famous temple of Kathmandu.

I visited this place on a Friday afternoon and it was super busy. You could not move around. I decided not to get in because of the caos of people. The stupa is very pretty and large in scale. There were a lots of shop and restaurants around.

Beautiful Stupa to walk around. Great photo opportunities.

Recommended staying for lunch in one of the surrounding restaurants - eating on the rooftop overlooking the Stupa. Also lots of small handicraft and souvenir stores around. Easily spend 1-2 hours here.

Visited the Stupa 3 times while in Nepal. We visited the first time with our guide and then chose to walk from our hotel on two other occasions for dinner and shopping.

A classic tourist attraction in Kathmandu. Best seen at start or end of the day so the light emphasises the magnificent structures. Lots of tourist shops nearby - if seeking artwork ( eg a mandala ) check prices elsewhere because we were quoted astronomical prices compared to Patan for the same thing.
