Had heard a lot and was recommended this place by my holiday coordinator. The redeeming factor to this place was the cultural programme which was excellent. The food was average and the service was quite below par. I found the staff waiting on our table to be very disinterested and slow in reaction.

The waiters are well misbehaved,
They dont write the orders and if you are lucky and if they remember what was ordered it will be delivered . First time saw despite making complaint to incharge no action taken.
Got great ambience, but got no decency with waiters how to behave with families

Never gonna recommend

Try a typical nepalesian dinner, daal bhat, that you eat with your Right hand. While you eat, you Can enjoy lokal Dancers, and listen to lokal Music. I Can really recomend The food!

The settings are okay, in an old building historically important I guess. But food is overpriced and quality is worst than roadside cheap Dal Bhat stalls. I think roadside hotels in Mugling serve better food than Nepali Chulo. For a plate of low quality Dal Bhat, which consists of old rice, smelly daal, some tarkari, greens cooked so badly, achar and meat item full of masala costs around 1000 Rs. Whereas the same type of food, maybe better will cost from 280 to 400 Rs. In other places all over Kathmandu. My advice: Go there if only you want to get ripped off.

Last year we went to a "typical Nepalese dinner" and were underwhelmed. This year we went to Nepali Chulo and could not have been more surprised. Great food, great dancing/music. Highly recommended
