A quaint cottage like atmosphere with a warm and friendly staff. Large comfortable room. A great guest lounge with conversation seating. Both the evening dinner and morning breakfast were wonderful. Quiet and very relaxing. We wished we could stay more than one evening.

Having a group of 11 friends over from the Netherlands for two weeks travelling in Southern Africa meant that I had to spoil them with intimate, good accommodation. Foresters Arms was another place clearly living up to this desire: nice bedrooms; very friendly staff; lovely garden; and excellent dinners and breakfasts. My friends, some for the first time in Africa, were very impressed with the beautiful setting during their two day stay!

Room tip: All rooms have nice views!

Visited this great place for dinner just this month. The service was good and the staff very friendly. the food was excellent from a set menu with an option to try various foods, which i felt was great. On some days buffet meals are available, one can call ahead to find out the menu options for each particular day.

I can't imagine that the Foresters has changed much in decades and that's its charm. The lounge with log fire, the very British style bar and friendly helpful staff who are always pleased to see you. The rooms are good sized and we had a view across the pool to the woodland beyond. My only gripe was not having a proper shower and just a bath with one of those hoses from the taps that, without a shower curtain or glass panel, sprays water all over the room. The restaurant provides a very good and varied choice for breakfast and the dinner menu allows you to choose small portions of everything if you want. The reception is most helpful in providing advice on the area.

When we visited friends we booked a room in Forester Arms Hotel where we once stayed 2 nights in 2012. We remembered a nice, quiet hotel with an excellent kitchen and as a result lovely food. Well fortunately nothing changed. The room and bathroom was absolutely clean, the pool is inviting and clean, the restaurant has the atmosphere one could also have had 40 years ago and the service of the whole staff is outstanding. We invited our friends to have dinner with us and were delighted that also the way one could choose from the menu has not been changed: as it is too difficult to choose and you like to have 2 starters that is no problem, the same applies for the main course and/or the dessert. Nobody see a problem in that. There is a salat buffet where you can help yourself also with home made bread.
The wines were cool, the bottles in the cooler filled with ice, coffee or thea after dinner.
Breakfast the next morning is similar, one can choose from a large variety: yoghurt, fresh fruit, eggs with all kinds of extra's, salmon with rice.....

And when leaving a last surprise: de dirty car you parked on the secured parking behind the room the day before shines as this has been cleaned as an additional service of the house...

Well done Forester Arms , thanks! We will certainly come back when we are in the neighborhood.

PS there are a lot of activities ( f.i. horse riding, walking, biking, golf, fishing and other things) that one can undertake when in Forrester Arms.
